Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/17846The study FORECAT: its genesis and performance in relation to public policies for rural education in the Lower Tocantins region of Pará aimed to analyze the process of genesis, structuring and contributions of the Tocantina Regional Forum for Rural Education (FORECAT) in the implementation of Rural Education in the Lower Tocantins region of Pará, involving seven of the eleven municipalities that make up this territory. Initially, we made a historical contextualization of public policies in the scenario of Rural Education, based on a synthesis of the normative frameworks, as well as the conceptual approaches on the subject. Then, we discussed FORECAT as an arena of civil society, seeking to conceptualize it through an overview of the origin, structure and participation of the social movement, institutions and entities in the Forum. Likewise, we carried out a brief analysis on the influence of FORECAT on the public sectors. This is an investigation in which the methodological path to be followed involved: bibliographical research, documentary research and field research, in which we opted for the perspective of the Focus Group (formed by founders, members and former members of the Forum), taking this as a space for collecting information.
