That settlement is located in the city of Fortaleza, in northeastern Pará We analyzed various aspects of women's lives settled, such as income, age, occupation, education, marital status, among others. The central question of this study, however, was related to the conditions under which it was measured women's work in the settlement. From a gender perspective aimed to uncover the ways and ideologies that sustain domination of male over female in rural areas. It was found that the seated woman working as much or more than the man, but for the most part, this work is not recognized. In this sense there is a relative invisibility of women's contributions in the areas of land reform.
