The use of inertial sensors has proven to be an important means of evaluating engine performance; in the development and sophistication of smartphones, research has been carried out for the development of mobile device applications that can extract reliable acceleration data to quantify and qualify the execution of functional activities. Goal. test the validity and reliability of the use of acceleration sensors to evaluate engine performance in the sit to stand in 30 seconds test. Method. 25 subjects of both sexes were evaluated in test and 22 in retest, using Smartphone with App and inertial sensor positioned at the level of the fifth lumbar vertebra, comparing their performances with the cinematic. The synchronization of acceleration signals was performed by the greater disturbance of the pressure center (CoP) captured by the force platform after an initial vertical jump, using specific analysis routines for MatLab Software. The cycles were cut manually, extracting 21 analysis variables per cycle; the cycle was divided into 3 phases: impulse (P1), sit to stand (P2) and stand to sit (P3); allowing us to observe the duration of each cycle, the number of cycles performed, the frequency of execution, its areas of positive acceleration (AUC+) and negative acceleration (AUC-) of each phase; maximum and minimum acceleration peaks per phase, and their range variations. Statistical analyses were performed in the R-Studio software; initially the Shapiro-Wilk test was applied to verify normality; later for criterion validation, they were used with the Correlation test (Pearson/Spearman) and the Bland-Altman chart tracing with 95% agreement limits. Reliability was assessed with the Intraclass Correlation and Correlation test (Pearson/Spearman). The results were then divided into two articles that individually compared the Smartphone App and the herbal sensor related to kinematics. Findings. Our hypothesis obtained validation regarding the gold standard in 85.71% of the app analysis variables and 95.23% in the Inertial Sensor; only the P2 times of the two devices and the AUC+ P1 and AUC+ P2 of the Smartphone have obtained r/rho < 0.70 values. The reliability of the measurements was verified in 76.19% of the variables in the Smartphone and Inertial Sensor; only the times of P1 Smartphone; P2 and P3 of both; AUC-P3 of the Inertial Sensor; Max Acc P2 and Min Acc P1 of both. The evaluation instruments were effective in observing the motor behavior of the CoM in the proposed functional test, although partially.
