What motivated our study was the fact that the media coverage of the environmental disaster, denounced by local communities and occurred in the beginning of 2018, involving the leakage of tailings from the Norwegian company Hydro Alunorte, leader in the global aluminum market, has achieved national repercussion. and international, but with little space for popular and local voices (STEINBRENNER, GUERREIRO NETO; BRAGANÇA; CASTRO, 2020).
