Comprising two interconnected articles, the research addresses, respectively, the factors that drive knowledge sharing in virtual communities and the practical application of a tool designed for sharing tactile graphics. The first article, titled “Virtual Communities and Knowledge Sharing: A Literature Review,” provides a comprehensive analysis of the main factors influencing knowledge-sharing behavior in virtual communities. The findings indicate that, although the diversity of these communities makes it difficult to define universal determinants, intrinsic motivation stands out as a key factor for user engagement and sustained participation. The second article, titled “Palp-it: A Web Tool for Sharing Tactile Graphics,” discusses the development and evaluation of a virtual community focused on disseminating tactile graphics. This initiative aims to support teachers and pedagogical teams in providing adapted materials for students who are blind or have low vision. In the context of inclusive education, the study identifies external factors, such as teacher training processes, as pivotal to the success of this approach. Together, the articles highlight the potential of virtual communities to foster inclusive education and promote the dissemination of knowledge within academic environments.
