Institutional violence is highlighted in this work, as it can be a key factor in fostering other forms of violence against the LGBTQIA+ population. Institutional LGBTphobia, sanctioned by the conservative tradition in our country, is composed of several controlling agencies, such as the government, religion, the economy, family, and education. Based on B.F. Skinner's concepts of Controlling Agencies and the understanding of Behavior Analysis as a tool for the theoretical interpretation of social phenomena with the potential for social transformation, the aim of this work was to propose a brief behavioral-analytic interpretation of how Control Agencies and conservatism act in the construction and maintenance of LGBTphobia in Brazil.
