Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18551This dissertation was based on the understanding that there is still a great need to raise awareness among the population about the importance of conserving natural resources, through programs capable of encouraging care for the environment and mainly teaching principles of management and handling of animals, such as is developed in some already consolidated management experiences, such as the Project for Management and Release of Quelônios in the Municipality of Juruti – Baixo Amazonas/PA, which constituted a starting point for the interest in developing a didactic pedagogical instrument intended for the treatment of this theme in classrooms for teaching Environmental Sciences. The guiding problem for carrying out the research and preparing the dissertation product referred to: how to introduce the theme of animal conservation, in particular, the conservation of Amazonian chelonians into school practices, and how this contributes to the Teaching of Environmental Sciences. The methodology used was bibliographic and documentary research on the themes covered by the Quelônio Management and Release project, its developments and relationship with environmental sciences, environmental education, interdisciplinarity, and community development, as well as the elaboration of a board game and its validation by basic education professionals. The results of the research carried out and the product developed indicated that the use of a didactic-pedagogical instrument based on socio-environmental issues that are capable of awakening in students an interest in thematization and problematization of their reality can contribute to the insertion of these issues into everyday life. of school practices.
