It can be observed in the months January, February and March year by year in the river that passes in front of the Joana Peres community, located within the Extractive Reserve Ipaú-Anilzinho, Baião, state of Pará. But, etymologically what is the meaning of the word Pirakaú and what it’s meaning to the population resident on the Joana Peres community? For the collect of evidences we chose a qualitative research using aspect of anthropology method. The paper presents possibilities for establishing dialogues that can be to initiate a systematic investigation, because nothing was written about this phenomenon.
