Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18523This study aims to analyze the conflict arising from the process of capital expansion over territories traditionally occupied within the Saracá-Taquera National Forest (Flona), located in Oriximiná, Pará, Brazil. From its inception, the decree establishing Saracá-Taquera National Forest permitted the operation of a large-scale industrial bauxite mining complex in the Trombetas River basin. More recently, with the enactment of the Public Forest Management Law (Law No. 11,284/2006), extensive areas within the forest — including those occupied by traditional riverside communities — have been granted for industrial-scale logging concessions. Both mining and logging concessions overlap with traditionally occupied territories, thereby triggering pressures and processes of territorial expropriation of these riverside communities.
