Acesso em: .https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/14223This qualitative research aims to analyze the public policy for financing professional male soccer in Pará from the relationship between public institutions (State) and the public media (TV Cultura/FUNTELPA), from 2005 to 2021. It was necessary to describe the historical relations between State and Sport and the public policies for financing sport in Brazil and Pará, to characterize the role of public TV in Brazil and the role of TV Cultura/FUTELPA in financing professional male soccer in Pará and to identify the forms of financing and the inequalities of capital in the financing of professional male soccer in Pará. With an interdisciplinary approach (JAPIASSU, 1976) and methodological procedures based on the praxeology proposed by Bourdieu (1989) as a method of interpreting the soccer field, based on relations between agents and the accumulation of symbolic power, this work used as research tools document analysis, semi-structured interviews and content analysis of the collected data. As a result, it can be observed that the policy adopted by the Government of Pará reproduces inequalities and has not contributed to the development of football in Pará.
