Because it is generated in large quantities and has many oxides of industrial interest, the kinetics of red mud leaching have become the object of study by many researchers. This work proposes the mathematical model and the estimation of the kinetic parameters of the leaching of the red mud, using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method with the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm. To estimate the parameters, actual data were used, obtained from different experiments involving red mud leaching with sulfuric acid. Based on the shrinking core model, a mathematical model was proposed, in terms of a system of coupled differential equations, aiming to represent the kinetics of the waste leaching.
