The systematization covers the content of the labor inspection reports and the understanding of the functioning of the production chain. The research sought to contribute to prevention and repression actions necessary for public policies aimed at tackling the issue. The specific objectives are: to raise indicators and the profile of victims in cases of configuration of contemporary slave labor in the gold prospecting activity in the state of Pará; to study the dynamics of gold mining in the Pará Amazon, in the light of regulations regarding Mining, Environmental and Labor Law; and to investigate what measures can be adopted to adapt working conditions to worker protection guidelines, in the context of artisanal gold mining. The methodology consisted of an analytical-descriptive-propositional approach, which involved the elaboration of a diagnosis, based on the analysis of labor inspection reports of actions in which there was identification and rescue of workers in contemporary slavery, in the context of gold mining in the Pará Amazon. Propositional interpretation and evidence-based analysis were carried out, with an inductive approach. From the smaller clipping, the scope allows the understanding of the phenomenon and the applicability of the findings in similar cases. In the end, the hypothesis was confirmed that the working conditions observed by the inspection teams in the actions that promoted the rescue of enslaved workers in gold mining refer to a set of irregularities regarding rights related to human dignity in the work environment, and the overcoming this context requires improvements in the way the activity is carried out and investment in proper compliance with labor standards.
