Vigia of Nazare municipality is being subject of high rates of precipitation, especially in the rainy season, which raises Pará River estuarine level, directly influencing the adjacent channel´s overflow. The precipitation, in Vigia of Nazare city, has been intensified in the last decades, in both size and intensity and the main effect is natural disaster risk, as inundations and floods. This study has as its main objective characterize the natural precipitation threat increase in Vigia of Nazare city, aiming to mitigate natural disasters risk caused by the precipitation variation. The methodological procedures used in order to carry out this research were the data analysis made available by climate hazards Group InfranRed precipitation with stations (CHIRPS), the sea surface temperature data (TSM) and from the available data in the MapBiomas platform, for the analysis of the precipitation frequency daily data were processed in the MICROSOFT EXCEL software using the statistic syntax expression FREQUENCY (matrix_data; matrix_bin) and for the correlation analysis between the precipitation data and the TSM, the Pearson correlation statistic technique was applied. The most important results of the research were the raise risk of natural disasters in Vigia of Nazare, such as inundations and floods as a result of the relevant changes occurring in the natural landscape vegetal cover. Hence, the precipitation, certainly, has been significantly intensified in the last decades.
