The work presents firstly the state-of-the-art of the hybrid power systems, characterizing their historical evolution, the main types and classifications, the basic composition and the advantages and disadvantages of the electrification through these types of systems. Afterwards, the identification and the description of the regional systems is made through the existent bibliographical references and information collected in field researches. The technical, operational, economic and administrative characteristics of those systems are briefly analyzed, serving as basis to the proposition of models for hybrid power systems, which influence directly the operation strategy and administration of the regional hybrid power systems.
