We seek to investigate here how regional cuisine and what is considered gourmet can be used for the exercise of social responsibility through social gastronomy. This case study presented here has as its locus of research the city of Belém, capital of the State of Pará. The production of data for this research was carried out using the respective instruments: semi-structured interviews based on the projects; field notebook, visits to the application spaces of Social Gastronomy projects and image records. The result of the investigation carried out points to the necessary expansion of the engagement of individuals and legal entities in actions that promote educational and professional training through the act of cooking; and guarantee access to knowledge; and the possibilities of employability in the food and beverage industry, also denotes the need for public policies that corroborate to reduce social abysses and foster social gastronomy using its potential as a transformative instrument. Social responsibility is everyone's duty.
