Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18166The Um Dia na Aldeia Collection, carried out by the Vídeo nas Aldeias project in partnership with the extinct publisher Cosac Naify and sponsored by Petrobras, consists of six adaptation books made from six documentaries filmed with indigenous communities in Brazil – Wajãpi, from Amapá; Ikpeng, from the Xingu Indigenous Park, north of Mato Grosso; Panará, on the border between the states of Pará and Mato Grosso; Kisêdjê, also from the Xingu Indigenous Park; Ashaninka, from the Peruvian Amazon, in Acre; and Mbya-Guarani, from Rio Grande do Sul. Thus, this thesis aims to investigate the approximations and dissonances between the creation processes of the different media versions on screen – the films (produced by indigenous filmmakers or with collaboration of project workers in the villages) and illustrated books (produced by non-indigenous people) – in order to understand the issues related to the adaptations of these films to literature. For this work, the text was divided into five main sections, which deal from the origin of the Vídeo nas Aldeias project to the intricacies of Um Dia na Aldeia Collection creation. The analyzes aim to explain and inform what supports each of these stories. What does the Um Dia na Aldeia Collection reveal about the perspective of indigenous thought? Who are the adapters and illustrators and what are their relations with indigenous peoples? Why are the adaptations aimed at children and youth? How do adapters reconcile indigenous images from videos to books? When were the works published, what means were used and what book publishers were responsible for their publications? In what context do the adaptations of indigenous films to literature arise? Each adaptation brings not only an aesthetic content, but also a complex and singular identity and cultural content.
