Acesso em: .https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18169Throughout the 19th century in Brazil, the literary scene was increasingly shaped by women writers. One of the many examples is Juana Paula Manso, who dedicated part of her life and career to Brazil. Therefore, this dissertation aims to explore the trajectory of writer Juana Manso (1819-1875) in 19th-century Brazil, focusing on her novel A Família do Comendador (2022), highlighting women's dominance in the work and its abolitionist aspects. Additionally, we aim to distinguish the forms of power held by female characters within the novel, analyze the construction of the Brazilian family and familial dynamics of the 19th century as portrayed in the narrative, examine the representation and significance of black characters, identify elements characterizing the narrative as abolitionist, and emphasize the importance of the Argentine author during her exile in Brazil. To achieve this, we first seek to understand the Brazilian literary landscape into which the writer was inserted, drawing on theoretical frameworks from Constância Lima Duarte (1994), Zahidé Muzart (1995), Mary Del Priore (2016) and others. The methodology of this research adopts a qualitative approach divided into two main parts: the first involves documentary research exploring previously published works on the topic, while the second part entails bibliographic research of sources related to the author and the work in question, as defined by Gil (2002).Acesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Século XIXArgentinaBrasilImprensaJuana MansoFamília do ComendadorAbolicionismo19th centuryBrazilNineteenth-century women writersAbolitionismDa imprensa ao romance: o percurso de Juana Manso no BrasilDissertaçãoCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES::LETRAS::TEORIA LITERARIALITERATURA, INTERPRETAÇÃO, CIRCULAÇÃO E RECEPÇÃOESTUDOS LITERÁRIOS
