It suggests strategies that reconcile development with preservation of these resources makes up the main challenge of environmental management. Water resources to be widely used and essential life management need to ensure its maintenance. In the municipality of Irituia, located in northeastern Pará, the human action on the natural landscape, including the riparian (Permanent Preservation Area), for agricultural, grazing or logging, has caused serious environmental and socioeconomic problems such as siltation of rivers, isolating communities, damage caused to the constant flooding of rivers, among others.
