The methodology was developed in two stages. The first exploratory based on documentary and bibliographic research and the second descriptive nature through the application From closed questionnaires on the topics community police philosophy, Local Governance and Sustainable Development. Official documents revealed characteristics and issues related to demographic, socioeconomic, environmental, structural, territorial identity, institutional, profile social participation and socioeconomic indicators produced between 2003 and 2015. The evidences allowed to answer the question about whether or not it is possible the implementation of the community policing philosophy in riverside locations in western Marajo.
