In this perspective, the Reliability Centered Maintenance has been widely used in the industrial sector, aiming improvements in the process and ensuring the reliability of the assets. To apply the method, the 5 steps for implementation were followed, in the following order: (i) Selection and training of a multidisciplinary team, (ii) Selection of the system/process and information collection, (iii) Reliability analysis of the critical equipments, (iv) Analysis of the functions and functional failures, (v) Application of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and (vi) Determination of the new maintenance plans.
