Acesso em: .https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18379The aim of the present was to verify correlations between Quality of Life (QOL) and the cognitive performance in elderly with and without Alzheimer's Disease. The participants of the study were 21 elderly people divided into two groups: Alzheimer's Disease Group (AD, n = 13) and Group without Alzheimer's Disease (Control Group, n = 8). The instruments of measurement of Quality of Life and Cognitive Performance were, respectively: 1) Quality of Life Scales in Alzheimer's Disease (QdV-DA), and 2) Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale - Third Edition (WAIS-III). The procedure was performed through interview with elderly and their caregivers (in the Group AD) through the application of the above mentioned instruments. Data were treated using SPSS software, version 20.0. The results did not show correlation between Quality of Life and Cognitive Performance, except between a QOL and an Operational Memory Index (IMO), what indicates that both share similar systems involved at successful performance in everyday tasks.
