The occupation process of Brazilian cities triggered a population settlement movement in places unsuitable for occupation, such as coastal areas, places with fragile soil, where different situations of risk and social and environmental vulnerability. In this context, the objective of this study is to analyze the characteristics of social and environmental vulnerabilities in the municipality of Barcarena-Pa, using statistical and cartographic data. Regarding the social and economic data surveyed, the main source used was the demographic census of the IBGE for the year 2010, normalization of variables, factor analysis and therefore the data generated were overlaid on a map. For environmental analysis, geological, geomorphological, pedological, rainfall and land use mapping was carried out. The map algebra technique was used to generate the vulnerability map. In an overview, it is noted that the municipality of Barcarena has an explicit deficiency in incorporating economic gains in favor of social and environmental benefits, since almost the entire municipality is at a high rate of social vulnerability, and even few locations where the social and most favored part, environmental vulnerability leads to a high risk scenario, especially in the rainiest months, which occurs between December to May.
