Discusses, also, the understanding of these young people of the meaning that school has in their lives, investigates their expectations about the inclusion in the labor market and what they think about the University. The research shows elements about the School role in the lives of working class youth. Its approach was classified as qualitative, the main data collection instrument is the focus group applied to twelve young. The issues that led the data analysis were how these young people find themselves in the future and what role the school plays in their lives. During the focus group, other element appeared and guided the research, such as access to the university. The research shows that these young people in the first grade of high school, from a school on the outskirts of Belém, have the expectation of joining the University, and only after the completion of higher education, enter the labor market.
