Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18766Due to the increasing vulnerability index of the coastal zone municipalities and the challenges faced for the maintenance and preservation of this region, this work aimed to analyze the role of environmental education actions in communities in situations of risk, seeking to strengthen the environmental rationality in the school environment, focusing on the education of resilient youth, as well as reducing the socioenvironmental vulnerability of the population before the impact of natural and/or technological disasters. This was a study in the city of Bragança-PA, a coastal region of northeastern Pará, which used as methodology a literature review and, subsequently, the application of investigative questionnaires to teachers of elementary school I and II (3rd to 9th grades), belonging to the database of the Municipal Department of Education - SEMEC and the State Department of Education - SEDUC of Bragança-PA. With this research, it is pointed out that the recurrence of environmental disasters in Bragança-PA has shown the need to know and analyze the environmental education activities present in the schools of the municipality, intending to promote resilience to risks and disasters in coastal communities. In addition, we realize that teachers can help in the construction of an environmental understanding and a participatory socioenvironmental responsibility of students through the activities available in the product resulting from this work - didactic and interactive guide - which helps not only in the exercise of valuing local knowledge and ecosystem services present in the coastal zone, but also subsidizes teachers in the preparation for the promotion of environmental education in the classroom and the recovery of coastal communities, focusing on young people belonging to formal education spaces.
