Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/2011/17010The research that resulted in this dissertation sought to empirically investigate the interaction between leadership and culture, as well as the effect of this interaction on the performance of manufacturing companies in the Amazon region. A multi-method methodological approach was used, starting with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on the aforementioned themes and object of investigation. Based on this review, the dimensions of culture and consolidated leadership styles were shown, and how they interact to contribute to companies in terms of improving organizational performance, be it operational, financial or environmental. An article was formatted with the results of the SLR, which was accepted at the XV Colloquium on Organizations, Development, Sustainability & II International Conference on Creative Economy and Public Policies. After the SLR, an empirical survey was conducted with 80 manufacturing companies located in the state of Pará, Amazon region of Brazil. In the discussions of the statistical analyses, Contingency Theory was applied to explore how contextual variables and scarce resources influence performance. The results reveal that the effect on organizational performance measures in view of the interaction between leadership styles and organizational culture adopted by companies in the Amazon Region is not homogeneous.
