Acesso em: .https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18663Introduction: Grazing behavior is characterized by the ingestion of small amounts of food, repetitively, without meal planning and without the perception of hunger. In Brazil, there are still few studies carried out to better understand this eating behavior and its relationship with psychological symptoms and metabolic variables such as body weight and glycated hemoglobin in patients who are candidates for and have undergone bariatric surgery (BS). Patients with severe obesity, when they present this eating behavior in the pre-operative period of CB, can maintain this behavior after surgery, contributing to weight regain and the worsening of emotional factors such as Depression, Anxiety and Stress and lack of glycemic control. Objective: The objective of this study was to verify the relationship between Grazing's eating behavior, body weight, glycated hemoglobin and symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress in patients before and after bariatric surgery. Objective: The objective of this study was to verify the relationship between Grazing's eating behavior, body weight, glycated hemoglobin and symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress in patients before and after bariatric surgery. Methodology: The study was cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical, whose data collection was carried out from August 2023 to November 2023 in the endocrinology sector of Hospital Jean Bitar. Adults of both sexes participated, both preoperatively and postoperatively from 6 months to 2 years of bariatric surgery. Instruments such as a data collection form, Repetitive Eating Questionnaire (RepEAT-Q), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Questionnaire (DASS-21) were used and for glycemic control, the value of glycated hemoglobin was verified through medical records. This study is the result of an Umbrella project entitled: Comparison between eating behavior in preoperative individuals and at different periods in the postoperative period of bariatric surgery, being approved by the Research Ethics Committeeunder opinion nº 5,180,990 and the data were analyzed using SPSS software, v. 24.0, considering p<0.05 as statistical significance. Results: This dissertation had its results presented in article format, which will be submitted to the journal Obesity Surgery. 91 patients were evaluated in the preoperative phase, 83.5% of whom were women. Depression symptoms and Grazing scores were significantly lower in the postoperative group. A positive correlation was found between the repetitive eating subscale and symptoms of depression (r2= 0.458, p<0.001), anxiety (r2= 0.520, p<0.001) and stress (r2= 0.324, p=0.001), as well as a correlation positive relationship between compulsive grazing and symptoms of depression (r2= 0.466, p<0.001), anxiety (r2= 0.562, p<0.001) and stress (r2= 0.383, p<0.001). Postoperatively, 43 patients were evaluated, 97.7% of whom were women. A positive correlation was found between repetitive eating and symptoms of depression (r2= 0.354, p=0.01) and glycated hemoglobin with compulsive grazing (r2= 0.558, p=0.015) and BMI (r2= 0.458, p=0.043). Conclusion: Psychological factors can contribute to Grazing behavior both pre- and postoperatively and Grazing can favor changes in glycemic control.Acesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Cirurgia bariátrica, Fatores emocionais, Comportamento alimentar.Bariatric surgery, Emotional factors, Eating behavior.Relação entre comportamento alimentar de grazing, peso corporal, hemoglobina glicada e sintomas de depressão, ansiedade e estresse em pacientes antes e após a cirurgia bariátrica na AmazôniaRelationship between grazing eating behavior, body weight, glycated hemoglobin and symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress in patients before and after bariatric surgery in the AmazonDissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::PSICOLOGIAProcessos Comportamentais ComplexosNEUROCIÊNCIAS E COMPORTAMENTO
