To answer this question, an extension course on young adult literature entitled Navegantes Honoratos was applied, which, through a composition of active methodologies, sought to work with the genre with the selected audience, verifying its relevance. The work was written according to the narrative methodology developed by Lucio (2016), supported by Suárez and Clandinin and Connelly. For the study of young adult literature, authors such as Zilberman, Debus, Abramovich, among others, were used, in addition to the writers-characters of this work: Maria Lúcia Medeiros, Cecília Meireles and Nelly Novaes Coelho.
