Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/11678The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of instruction of alternative behavior on the resurgence of previously shaped behavior. The participants were eight universitary students with no experimental history, randomly selected by a verbal invitation of the experimenter. The students were randomly divided in two groups of four participants each. They were exposed to a matching to sample procedure, with one model and three comparisons. The experimental task consisted in ponting to the three comparisons stimuli in a previously established sequence. Two sequences were previously defined by the experimenter as correct: an initial one (in Phase 1) and an alternative one (Phase 2). The experiment was constituted by two experimental conditions, with three phases each. The first phase of both conditions had three steps (shaping, extinction and re-shaping) and began with the presentation of minimal instructions. Phase 2 was initiated with the presentation of a correspondent instruction for participants of Condition 1 and with no signalization to Condition 2. The third phase was equal to both conditions and was constituted by two sessions of extinction (160 tries), were the resurgence phenomena could be observed. The results obtained show that the two groups had different performances. For the group in Condition 1 the instructed behavior in Phase 2 had highest rates in Phase 3 than the shaped behavior in Phase 1. The opposite data was observed in Condition 2 concerning to the rate of responses. Few participants of the same groups, however, showed individual differences, being necessary a procedure of re-shaping in the first step of Phase 1. Yet in Phase 3, differences on individual performances were observed, where some participants presented more equivalent rates between the two reinforced sequences. Such differences observed suggest that the instruction of the alternative behavior has an influence on the resurgence of the behavior that was previously shaped. Hypothesis about the insensivity and the role of extinction on the occurrence of resurgence are discussed.Acesso AbertoRessurgênciaEfeitos de históriaComportamento governado por regrasResurgenceEffects of historyRule governed behaviorEfeitos de uma história de seguimento de regra sobre a ressurgência de um comportamento previamente modeladoEffects of rule following history on the resurgence of previously reinforced behaviorDissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::PSICOLOGIAANÁLISE EXPERIMENTAL DO COMPORTAMENTO: BASES EXPERIMENTAIS E HISTÓRICO-CONCEITUAISPSICOLOGIA EXPERIMENTAL
