The first article, titled "The Profile and Transformations of Rural Agroindustries in the Amazon: A Comparative Analysis of the Productive Structure between 2006 and 2017," conducts a descriptive analysis using data from the 2006 and 2017 Agricultural Censuses. It examines the characteristics of rural agroindustries in the municipalities of the Legal Amazon, highlighting how proximity to the agricultural frontier affects growth, productive configuration, and the types of processed products. Additionally, it maps the distribution of agroindustries across states, identifying the most important products and the recorded growth, outlining a profile of the territorial and productive dynamics shaping the region. The second article analyzes the extent to which family-based rural agroindustries can influence land-use dynamics and deforestation in the municipalities of the Legal Amazon. The main hypothesis suggests that the presence of family agroindustries contributes to more efficient land use, reducing pressure for the expansion of new forest areas. To test this relationship, an econometric model based on Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) was applied, treating the participation of family agroindustries as an endogenous variable to mitigate potential simultaneity biases. The results indicated that a higher participation of agroindustries in family establishments is associated with a reduction in forest area variation, suggesting that productive models based on family agroindustrialization can help mitigate deforestation. On the other hand, cattle herd growth was positively correlated with forest cover loss. We conclude that public policies aimed at strengthening family-based agricultural rural processing and promoting sustainable production chains can play a strategic role in reducing pressure on the region's natural resources.ptAcesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Agricultura familiarAmazônia legalDinâmicas territoriaisDesmatamentoAgroindústria ruralCenso agropecuárioFamily farmingLegal amazonTerritorial dynamicsDeforestationRural agro-industryAgricultural censusTransformações da agroindústria rural e dinâmicas do uso do solo na Amazônia brasileira: um estudo comparativo de 2006 e 2017DissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ECONOMIADINÂMICA AGRÁRIA E DESENVOLVIMENTO SUSTENTÁVELDESENVOLVIMENTO ECONÔMICO REGIONAL
