Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18601This research investigates the pedagogical possibilities of Google Street View in History Education, based on a teaching experience conducted with sixth-grade students at a public school in the municipality of Marituba, in the metropolitan region of Belém, Brazil. The study is grounded in the understanding that digital technologies have reshaped access to information, spatial experiences, and relationships with memory, thus requiring new strategies of pedagogical mediation in History Education. Within this context, Google Street View is analyzed as a visual archive, a historical source, and a digital tool capable of fostering critical interpretations of urban space and the development of situated historical learning. The investigation adopts a qualitative approach and is characterized as applied research conducted from a case study perspective. The methodological process involved the design and implementation of a teaching sequence, the observation of students’ interactions during the activities, and the analysis of the interpretations they produced throughout the experience. The results indicate that the use of Google Street View helps connect History Education with the spaces experienced by students, promoting an understanding of landscape transformations, continuities, and changes over time. The research also highlights the importance of teacher mediation in problematizing images and developing critical interpretations of space. As an educational product, the study presents a pedagogical guide aimed at the critical use of the tool in History classes, accompanied by a proposed extension course designed as a strategy for disseminating the guide and supporting its educational appropriation.
