Grounded in phenomenological and interdisciplinary perspectives, the research highlights the urgency of Amazonian intersubjectivities as referential icons for studies focused on socio-environmental contexts in the Amazon. It proposes a dialogical movement between Amazonian sensibilities in diverse existential tones and ontic-ontological manifestations that offer significant contributions to the field of environmental planning and management. The landscape is here understood as finitude, wonder, and simultaneously, a transformation of human reality — constituted by places conceived as a common good, beyond the utilitarian notion of “resource” aggregating meanings of dwelling, graphias, and unique ways of sensing life. Through a qualitative methodology encompassing participatory observation, open and spontaneous interviews, and photographic records, this study justifies itself by emphasizing the necessity of overcoming reductionist dichotomies in Amazonian studies concerning floodplain communities, with a particular focus on one guiding question: the temporality of waters. Within this Amazonian-Marajoara context, the thesis proposes, therefore, a phenomenology of the waters, emphasizing the centrality of riverside experiences for Amazonian studies. It assumes these experiences as fundamental pillars for public policies that engage with the particularities of dwelling, thereby fostering sustainable articulations between traditional knowledge and practices in favor of a well-being contextualized by the senses of place.Acesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/MarajóMuanáComunidades ribeirinhasSaberes socioambientaisFenomenologia das águasRiverside communitiesSocio-environmental knowledgePhenomenology of the watersPaisagem, experiências e sentidos do habitar ribeirinho em Embara-Yó: sensibilidades ontológicas sob o regime de águas marajoaras (PA)TeseCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ARQUITETURA E URBANISMO::PAISAGISMOCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ECONOMIA::ECONOMIA REGIONAL E URBANA::ECONOMIA REGIONALESTADO, INSTITUIÇÕES, PLANEJAMENTO E POLÍTICAS PÚBLICASDESENVOLVIMENTO SOCIOAMBIENTAL
