Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/17979The Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) movement has been consolidating itself as a central force in business practices around the world, driven by research that seeks to measure its impact on organizations. Within this context, this study aims to evaluate ESG practices at Banco do Estado do Pará, a state-owned financial institution located in the Amazon, a region characterized by its biodiversity and social complexity. The focus of the investigation is to analyze how the adoption of ESG criteria can influence the institution's sustainable management and the impact of this incorporation on mitigating environmental risks. The study methodology combined qualitative and quantitative approaches, adopting the case study format. Primary and secondary sources were used, including institutional documents, sustainability reports, governance charters and risk assessments. The research was classified as exploratory and descriptive, focusing on the analysis of Banpará sustainable policies. Data collection was carried out through a bibliographic and documentary review, complemented by the application of questionnaires and content analysis of the institution's official disclosures for the years 2022 and 2023. It was found that in 2023, governance was strengthened with new diversity criteria and greater transparency, while methodologies for assessing climate risks improved institutional resilience. In the environmental field, the bank expanded the use of solar energy and adopted energy efficiency practices. Socially, microcredit programs for women and community partnerships consolidated the relationship with stakeholders and increased the positive impact. However, there is still a need for greater engagement and inclusion of employees to improve diversity and well-being. The bank also intensified dialogue with stakeholders and promoted public consultations, expanding feedback channels, reinforcing trust and community engagement.Acesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Environmental Social and GovernanceInstituições financeiras públicasGestão de riscoISE B3Amazônia LegalGovernança e sustentabilidade: as políticas sustentáveis e seus impactos em uma Instituição Pública Estadual localizada na Amazônia LegalDissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ADMINISTRACAO::ADMINISTRACAO PUBLICAGESTÃO DE ORGANIZAÇÕES PÚBLICASGESTÃO PÚBLICA DO DESENVOLVIMENTO
