Another aspect of this challenge is to teach the population pro-environmental behaviors. However, traditional teaching methods and technologies have been ineffective, especially with today's children and young people, given the technological stimuli that compete with these methods and technologies. For this reason, the use of tools that promote active and autonomous learning can be an option for teaching and learning in schools. In this way, this study evaluated the effectiveness of educational interventions aimed at promoting pro-environmental behavior by teaching how the electricity system works in Brazil. To this end, a booklet made available by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) was adapted, validated and transformed into a book for children and young people and videos were produced, both based on the storytelling tool. The books and videos were evaluated through their use in elementary school classes in public schools in Belém do Pará. The students' performance was assessed using pre-tests and post-tests in a single-subject experimental design. The results of the intervention showed that the participants had equivalent learning about electricity in the experimental groups. However, the video more strongly favored capturing and paying attention to the material, while in the book modality, there was greater dispersion during exposure to the material.
