Behavior Analysis, and in particular its applied branch (Applied Behavior Analysis), is a field of knowledge and application with broad convergence of interest related to speech-language pathology. This convergence frontier becomes more evident when it comes to research and intervention for people diagnosed with ASD. This doctoral dissertation explores interactions between these two disciplines, seeking to understand which behavioral-analytic research and intervention procedures have been used and reported in research by speech-language pathologists, as well as various characteristics of research reports that fall within this context. A systematic review research was carried out with this objective, and it is reported in Study 1. In Study 2 reports an empirical study in which the interaction between speech-language pathology and applied behavior analysis is directly explored with focus on teaching echoic repertoire to children diagnosed with ASD. The connection between Studies 1 and 2 comes from the fact that Study 1 pointed out a lack of research on procedures that explore knowledge of applied behavior analysis and speech- language pathology techniques to intervene on the challenging problem of echoic repertoire deficits.
