Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/9473This dissertation analyse the publication from six Machado de Assis‘ tales in the periodical from Pará Folha do Norte between 1896 and 1900: ―Uma Carta‖, ―Uns Braços‖, ―O Diplomático‖, ―Adão e Eva‖, ―A Cartomante‖ and ―Conto de Escola‖, taking account the historical context that the tales was published, 19th century. Through the checking of periodical from Pará is possible to understand which is the purpose of the editors in discloses literary writtens on footnote of the newspaper considering that, though they deny so, the Folha was strictly linked to politics.
