The research problem arises from the fact that deforestation rates in the state of Pará are going against its targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, making it necessary to develop mechanisms to mitigate climate change. In view of this, restoration as an instrument for removing and reducing greenhouse gases is an important mechanism in the implementation of carbon projects, and it is necessary to analyze the legislative panorama of this instrument in the state, especially in its climate and environmental protection policy. To this end, the deductive method is used and the collection and analysis procedures include bibliographical research, analysis of national and sub-national legislation and international standards and treaties on the subject.
