Many indicators have been used to measure productivity in the manufacturing industries, as the OEE (Overall Equipment effectiveness), in the national literature referred to as "Eficácia Global de Equipamentos", the indicator analyse 3 parameters (availability, performance and quality), giving support to make decisions in all sectors of the production chain. With this, a bibliographic survey was made to identify the limitations of the research and identify the variables and data that would be collected in the three parameters of the indicator. The research also discussed the application of the indicator in a timber industry, explaining all its points of application, as well as collecting and analyzing the data, identifying bottlenecks in the productive process in any sector of the production chain.
