Acesso em:https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/7913Analysis of the estimate of losses billing of electric energy due the leak in the net of water distribution of the 3rd sector, managed by the Companhia de Saneamento do Pará (COSANPA) in the metropolitan region of Belém (RMB). The search was held done in 5 (five) stages. In the stage 1 was identified the month with major occurrence of leak in the period of May 2006 at Abril 2007, for detailing of the occurrences (local, diameter of the net and occurrence time of each leak) in the second phase. After it was estimated the flow (phase 3) and the volume lost (phase 4) in the net of water distribution of the 3rd sector. Finally in the phase 5 was estimated the losses of billing and electric energy. The results obtained show the necessities of deployment of a programme of reduction of losses in the net of water distribution of the 3rd sector. The greater volume of lost water occurred in the month of November 2006, causing loss of turnover of R$ 20.906,32 corresponding to the volume of 14.933,08 m3 and the electric energy on the value of R$477,80 correspond at 2.389,93kWh.
