Among the behavioral aspects, characteristics such as boldness and assertiveness differ from winning and losing animals. In humans, they can be studied through personality. This research aimed to investigate differences between better and worse judokas and the physical and behavioral aspects, as well as to investigate the correlations between personality traits and morphofunctional measures. The sample consisted of 26 judokas, aged between 17 and 30 years, with at least six years of practice. Among instruments and apparatus were used: anamnesis to collect sociodemographic data and sports routine, Factorial Battery of Personality (BFP) to investigate the traits and anthropometric tests and motors for morphofunctional measures. The results showed that (a) traits of haughtiness and dynamism differ between judokas at the top and bottom of the ranking (b) there are correlations between personality traits and variables, such as age, years of practice, flexibility and manual grip. These findings point to an evolutionary consistency in the phenomenon of winning and losing in the natural and sporting context; traits of dynamism and haughtiness are related to winning and losing in humans; and these traits may be correlated with characteristics of boldness and assertiveness in animals.Acesso AbertoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/PersonalidadePersonalityVencer e perderJudôBateria Fatorial de PersonalidadeEsporteWinner and LoserJudoFactorial Battery of PersonalitySportTraços de personalidade em judocas: diferenças entre ganhar e perderPersonality traits in judokas: differences between winning and losingDissertaçãoCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::PSICOLOGIAEcologia do Desenvolvimento HumanoECOETOLOGIA
