The research aims to understand how photography can serve as a bridge between the present and the past, activating memories, emotions, and layers of subjectivity through images fixed in time. The methodology is based on artistic creation through the manipulation and recombination of personal archive photographs, in dialogue with lived experiences, oral narratives, sensory impressions, and processes of listening and recollection. The investigation makes use of both analog and digital photographic processes, incorporating visual experimentation and a variety of techniques, such as pinhole photography, negative scanning, and the layering of visual and symbolic elements through collage. The theoretical foundation engages with authors such as Roland Barthes, André Bazin, Susan Sontag, Marisa Mokarzel, Sigmund Freud, and Eugenia Vilela, reflecting on notions of time, memory, permanence, and reinterpretation. The project strengthens the bond between image and memory, revealing how photography can encapsulate both the pain of mourning and the celebration of life, acting as a time capsule and a vessel of affection.
