Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/12208The discussion on combating deforestation in Pará concerns the implementation of efficient public policies formulated by instruments of command and control of public environmental management correlated with sustainable development. It is proposed to investigate the environmental management mechanisms used by the Public Power through the Rural Environmental Registry to contain deforestation in the State of Pará. Through a study of the pertinent legislation and using a qualitative methodology, deforestation was observed in Pará and its exploratory analysis. The study highlighted the importance of forest resources for human survival. He verified the relationship between the maintenance and growth of deforestation in Pará with the expansion of cattle raising, soybean cultivation and population growth. He pointed out that the increase in deforestation rates occurs most prominently in the Priority Municipalities of Pará.
