The importance of conserving natural ecosystems and adopting protective measures to mitigate the negative impacts of human activities on the climate is highlighted. It ratifies the significance of ecosystem services, such as air and water purification, flood control, and protection against soil erosion, emphasizing the vital role of biodiversity in ecosystem stability and resilience to climate change. This dissertation highlights the importance of indigenous peoples in preserving these areas, recognizing their original rights to land. Carbon capture by ecosystems such as forests and mangroves is highlighted as essential for reducing carbonic gas emissions, with the maintenance of these public areas being fundamental for stabilizing the global climate. The importance of international agreements on climate and their reception by Brazil in the Amazon region is analyzed. Attention is also drawn to the need to implement effective legal and political mechanisms to protect these areas, promoting public awareness and participation in the process.
