Acesso em:.https://repositorio.ufpa.br/handle/2011/18636There are many challenges for the training of parents and professionals to contribute to the intervention of people diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The use of asynchronous resources (such as instructional video, video modeling, video monitoring and feedback per video) are a promising alternative in this direction. This work aims to evaluate the effectiveness of video-based training in the implementation of social pairing techniques. Three studies were carried out in which a total of three parents, three caregivers, six interns and four children aged 20 to 30 months with ASD participated. The adults were exposed to videos on naturalistic teaching techniques to facilitate social pairing. In the first study, two instructional videos were presented and their effects on the performance of adults with children were evaluated. In the second study, a phase with video monitoring via instructional checklist and feedback via video was added to the training package. Participants evaluated model videos based on a checklist and, once they achieved integrity in monitoring, the effects of monitoring on the implementation of teaching techniques were assessed. In the third study, the effects of the reliable implementation of social pairing strategies on the child’s Initiation of Joint Attention and Joint Engagement were evaluated.
