From the perspective of social representations and theories of news broadcasting, have been examined four parameters: the concepts of Amazon adopted in the news and reports; the representations of States of the Legal Amazon and its relationship with the region; the themes under which Amazon appears on national television; and the differentiations in stories as the absence and presence of local television in the content production process. For such were observed the news showed between 14 June and 09 October 2010, totaling 101 journalistic texts.
