In the Amazon, the military project was consolidated with the implementation of Large-Scale projects (GPs) aimed at exploiting the potential of nature. At that time, nature was understood as a natural resource by representatives of the Federal Government and sectors linked to private interests. This work aims to discuss the environmental impacts resulting from the implementation of large-scale projects in the Amazon and to understand them as a relevant topic for history teaching.
