Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O extrato de açaí como indicador ácido-base: um manual didático para experimentos com água de chuva no ensino de química(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-06-26) MACEDO, Adriana Costa; PEREIRA, Simone de Fátima Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6059412003152989; 6059412003152989Natural extracts can be obtained from various sources such as purple cabbage, beet, grape and açaí. And they serve as acid-base indicators because they contain a substance called anthocyanin and can be used in chemistry classes. One way to use them is in the analysis of rainwater, to verify the presence of acidity and consequently the formation of rain acid, a phenomenon that can be intensified with the presence of industries and / or presence of large flow of automobiles. In order to work on these issues, a didactic manual addressing these issues was constructed. It consists of: a brief summary on the acid and base teaching; natural indicators; industrial urban activity; the use of the acid rain theme in chemistry classes; the industrial pole of Barcarena. It also has a didactic sequence with a script of theoretical and practical classes. For the practical classes is presented an experimental kit with a highlight for the color change of natural dyes, rich in anthocyanins, which can be used as pH indicators. Contextualizing the Amazon region, the alcoholic extract of açaí was used for the assembly of this kit that was applied in the determination of acidity of rainwater and household materials. The acidity determined in the samples of rainwater may be related to the intense industrial activity in the region of Barcarena. The manual was applied in a 1st grade class with forty students from Jesus Barros Pereira Elementary School and Middle School Acy, where they answered questions before and after the application of the theoretical and experimental classes and the result showed that there was an improvement of the understanding and absorption of the concepts presented there. This methodology was presented to five professors of Chemistry of the state education network, who were enrolled in Barcarena schools. Teachers unanimously evaluated the proposed methodology by stating that they will use it in their chemistry classes. The use of the didactic manual evidenced the importance of applying experimental methods to provide the student with a more effective teaching-learning.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Lendas e mitos de uma comunidade da Amazônia utilizados noensino de ciências e na conservação do Lago do Segredo.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-09-19) SILVA, Danielle Damasceno da; MELO JÚNIOR, Luiz Cláudio Moreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3064385690292102; https://orcid.org/0009-0009-2407-936X; PEREIRA, Simone de Fátima Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6059412003152989; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2556-211XThe figures that permeate the Amazonian imagination and evoke fear or fascination also carry lessons and can contribute to the construction of a new rationality and favor the teaching of environmental sciences and the conservation of water resources in the Amazon region with an understanding of their importance. The objective of this study was to develop an interdisciplinary teaching tool inspired by the legends and myths of the Amazon as a contribution to the teaching of environmental sciences and the conservation of Lago do Segredo. The area chosen for the research was the rural community of Segredinho and the State High School Apolônia Pinheiro dos Santos, both located in the District of Tauari, municipality of Capanema-PA. The sample universe consisted of 30 students and 6 teachers at the School, in addition to 33 residents of the Segredinho community. An mini e-book divided into eight small chapters, interspersed with poems and images, was the chosen product, which was evaluated positively by those who were willing to answer the validation questionnaire. Of the teachers, 60% declared to participate in projects, although some have highlighted that this participation is not routine, but sporadic, and highlighted as difficulties the lack of collaboration, the issue of time and the difficulties of the educational system itself. 37% of community residents consider work to be the biggest challenge or difficulty in Segredinho. In conclusion, it was possible to verify that there is a wide field to be explored using the legends and myths of the Amazon in the promotion of actions both in the area of education and in the area of environmental conservation. Within the scope of this research, many challenges were envisioned and some paths were taken to face them, such as the need for new research and projects both in the school and community spheres.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O potencial da Arrabidaea chica (pariri) como indicador naturalácido-base: uma proposta para o ensino de ciências.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-03-24) SILVA, Vanderlane Suelen da Silva e; SOUSA JUNIOR, Pedro Moreira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3194428833833524; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6964-562X; PEREIRA, Simone de Fátima Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6059412003152989; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2556-211XExperimentation is a good teaching strategy that contributes to teaching and learning in natural sciences. Among the various science subjects that can be worked on through experimentation, it is worth mentioning the acidity and basicity of substances, as it is a topic that is present in the student's daily life. Under such a scenario, the acid and base themes can be studied through natural indicators, these are natural extracts that have anthocyanins as a base, and they are pigments of the flavonoid class that can be used to determine the pH of various samples. In this sense, Arrabidaea chica popularly known as Pariri is one of several plants that contain anthocyanin. Thus, the present study aimed to identify the acid-base indicator properties of the plant extract of the A. chica species, considering its use as a natural indicator for testing the pH of drinking water and rainwater applied in science teaching. For this, the research was developed in 3 stages: preparation of the alcoholic extract of A. chica, application of the alcoholic extract of A. chica as a pH indicator with students of the 9th grade of elementary school at the Public school Maria Conceição Malheiro in Irituia-PA and the composition of the educational product. The final product of the research was a booklet that addressed the pH of drinking water and how to create a natural pH indicator from the alcoholic extract of A. chica. It is concluded that the A. chica extract can be used as a pH indicator, showing a very satisfactory acid-base color change when applied to the tested samples. It was also evident that there was a great involvement of students and teachers with the proposed experience and how the approximation of scientific knowledge with students' daily lives can favor the teaching-learning process. The final product of the research, when applied to the teachers, had a satisfactory response in the School that was the object of this study and could help other teachers from other places.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Quiz ambiental um aplicativo utilizado para o ensino das ciências ambientais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-31) ESTEVAM, Rogério Sousa; SANTOS, Davis Castro dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7784257182257171; PEREIRA, Simone de Fátima Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6059412003152989Issues such as environmental issues that deal with issues related to air and water pollution, greenhouse effect and acid rain, served as the basis for the elaboration of a pedagogical tool, with the objective of assisting teachers and students in the teaching and learning process. The Environmental Quiz is a mobile phone software that was developed and tested in order to evaluate its use as a tool to help in the construction of knowledge related to environmental sciences. The application features a question and answer format with multiple choice questions of different difficulty levels, which was applied to a group of teachers and students of vocational qualification courses, in a Vocational Education Institution and in a network school state, both located in the city of Barcarena - PA, between 2018 and 2019. Among the results, we observed the involvement and participation of both students and teachers during the execution of activities related to the use of this tool. However, some difficulties encountered during the application of the game were also observed, such as the need for internet access for its installation and completion, as well as the degree of complexity of some issues, which was evident after the tests performed. The information collected in this process demonstrated that the use of technologies, such as applications for smartphones, can be an ally in the process of building knowledge related to environmental science teaching.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Temas transversais da química ambiental e história em quadrinhos como ferramentas pedagógicas para o ensino de ácidos e bases(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-09-28) CRUZ, Erivan Sousa; ROCHA , Edson José Paulino da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2313369423727020; PEREIRA, Simone de Fátima Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6059412003152989Science teaching has required methodological strategies capable of dealing with a huge range of content.
