Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) 1978: letramento científico e consciência metacognitiva de grupos de professores em formação inicial e continuada: um estudo exploratório(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-04-15) GOMES, Ana Silvia Alves; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This study investigated the scientific literacy skills and metacognitive profile of basic education teachers and students of undergraduate courses, using two newly produced instruments: Test of Scientific Literacy Skills (TOSLS) and the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). Specifically they were investigated possible correlations between metacognitive skills and scientific literacy, checking and comparing different types of metacognitive skills and scientific literacy for current and future teachers, and evaluate the psychometric and possible improvements of the instruments qualities. The work is based on contemporary research on scientific literacy and metacognition, in particular, studies that aimed to investigate how these skills are developed by teachers of science and mathematics. The results obtained with the implementation of the instruments on a sample of twenty three undergraduate and twenty practicing teachers, indicate that 74% of the sample does not have an adequate level of scientific literacy, despite declaring that frequently use different metacognivas strategies study and plan lessons. Significant statistical correlations were also found between the scores of TOSLS and MAI, ie. metacognitive skills and scientific literacy skills were not correlated. It shows the rupture of key skills with lower rates of success, arguing about their possible causes and mitigation measures for identified problems and suggests future research possibilities using the instruments. I could clearly understand, through my experience, the necessity of a Science teaching involving the real context of the learner. The reflections on my teaching practice motivated me to a teaching challenge that made a relation between the student conceptual domain and the real situations in his community . Thus, the purpose of this research is to investigate evidences of a critical attidude from the CTS teaching conception through problems presented related to electrical energy consumption. I tried to answer the researching question about how to enable critical analysis from students regarding to their own use of residential electricity. This research was conducted through a qualitative approach, the action research type. A workshop was developed using conceptual energy content, in order to integrate the topics of the teaching unit. As an analysis strategy of the collected data, I developed an interpretative analysis, the intention was to give meaning to the situations raised by the students during the classes. The information was obtained through questionnaires and records in field notes. The results presented that CTS teaching approach enabled students the critical thinking mainly about values and ethical issues, relating their social reality to the habit of excessive electrical energy consumption, considering that for some students the illegal connection is a justification for wasting energy. The research has shown the dialogic and changing potential of this educational approach as the record of some students changing attitudes in that situation. I believe that, in this sense, this project demonstrated that CTS approach in schools is possible and that citizenship needs to be developed, being the technological scientific literacy of their rights and duties important for the students good achievement in society.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A abordagem CTSA e o espaço não formal: O rio que eu vejo no complexo ver-o-rio(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-09-23) NAHUM, Helen Regina Machado; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This study is oriented to the area of Scientific Teaching and developed through the Science, Technology, Society and Environment Approach (STSE) in a non-formal educational space, the Ver-o-Rio Complex, in the city of Belém, state of Pará, Brazil. It aimed to analyze, in its different dimensions, the decision-making process of 9th grade students of Elementary School, in relation to the problems identified in the Ver-o-Rio Complex non-formal space. This research was carried out in a qualitative approach, from the pedagogical intervention type. For data analysis, it was used the method of Discursive Textual Analysis (ATD), systematizing the results obtained into three categories: Understanding the STS Relations; Consciousness-Making/Decision-Making; and Student Interest and Autonomy. To set the corpus of analysis, we considered researches carried out by the own students on various topics related to the environment, along with texts written by them, the teacher's research diary, notes from conversation circles, photographic records of the visit to the Ver-o-Rio Complex, interviews with the students in a WhatsApp group (created due to the pandemics), which were answered individually by audio or writing; and videos on awareness/decision produced by the students. Among the results found, it was observed that the relationship among Scientific Teaching and the STSE Approach favored the learning of several scientific concepts, brought motivation, argumentation and critical reasoning, in addition to bringing students closer to the teacher. In this sense, it was observed that the activities carried out in the non-formal space, from the perspective of an educational context, were configured as a successful proposal, as it motivated the students, increased their interest in knowledge and presented characteristics related to thinking and freedom of expression.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A abordagem CTSA no ensino de ciências: um estudo documental do plano estadual de educação no estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-08-19) TAVARES, Cacilene Moura; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646The use of the STSE approach in the teaching of High School Sciences is important for the formation of the human being who lives in contemporary society. This scenario demonstrates the relevance of performing this research, in the context of the State of Pará, by the analysis of pertinent documents to this approach, as the State Education Plan approved in 2015, and the Innovative High School Program (IHSPRO), developed at the federal level since 2009, to verify its approximations to the STSE approach, which is already present in the General National Curricular Guidelines for Basic Education. For the establishment of comparisons from the classical science teaching and the one that uses the STSE approach we use the studies from Zoller and Watson (1974 apud SANTOS, SCHNETZLER, 2010), having as a methodological procedure the content analysis of Bardin (2011). The initial perception from the study shows that the analyzed documents - SEP / PA and IHSPRO -, in it general contextualization, present visions, views related to the STSE approach and the Sciences teaching, in search of improvements in the offering of High School in Paraense public schools, making it possible to affirm that contributions were found in the SEP / PA that approximate the STSE approach in the Innovative High School Teaching (IHSPRO) in Pará. However, it has also been fully demonstrated that, from the six keywords highlighted for analysis, four - "citizenship", "technology", "society" and "values" - are not expressly mentioned in both documents analyzed, leading us to consider that were not properly used all aspects of the STSE approach and the science teaching by the federal and state public authorities in the preparation of the reported public politics, built for the High School level education. Thus, it is clear that the documents analyzed were not built in the perspective of the STSE approach, even if High School Education values science and technology in the student's human formation, in the sociocultural aspects, for the formation of citizenship. It was possible to verify, therefore, that the objective of this research was reached.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uma agenda de pesquisa para formação docente em educação em ciências: investigando elementos essenciais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-05-03) MAGNO, Cleide Maria Velasco; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646Based on ideas developed about the role of the teacher and his training, we conducted an investigation on the production of the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education, Institute of Mathematical and Scientific Education, Federal University of Pará (PPGECM / IEMCI / UFPA), With the purpose of knowing, understanding and reflecting on the elaboration of a research agenda for the area of Scientific Education. With this purpose, we produced a panoramic picture of the general production of PPGECM, with the methodological context in which it was constructed, explaining in the works the indicators that delimited the field of research on teacher training; We show the training model (s) and the dimension in which they fit, and we place Science Education with emphasis for the CTS approach. The research was delineated in the qualitative, documentary type approach. The texts were selected by means of the identification of the descriptors "teacher training and conception" in the virtual and printed archives, deposited in the site and in the library of the Institute. For the corpus of analysis, 26 dissertations and one thesis were chosen, distributed in two periods. For the systematization, the data were organized in annual tables, called Integrative Synthesis, from which other analytical matrices were created. To analyze the data, we used the Bardin Content Analysis (2016). The results were presented in two blocks. We conclude, from the first block that there are methodological weaknesses in the productions that need to be worked out, however, the field of research teacher training has shown itself in a process of consolidation in the program. The second block showed that there is an evolutionary continuum referring to the training model, as well as in Education for Citizenship and Science Teaching, used in all productions. As for Education, with a CTS approach, the potentiality of the proposal to change students' conception emerges and self- training of teachers is evident. All these points constitute strong elements for the elaboration of a Research Agenda, however, considering all the aspects necessary for the development of the area, it is important the collaborative participation of all those involved in said program, to make feasible the planning, the development And its implementation of this agenda.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A água para o consumo humano: ensino por meio de temas com abordagem em ciência, tecnologia, sociedade e ambiente(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-05-02) RIBEIRO, Dayane Negrão Carvalho; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687Water is a topic commonly treated in the teaching of science, but a resource availability scenario lacks discussions to training for citizenship through the recognition of scientific and technological issues surrounding access to the use and preservation of human life. In this scenario, this study sought to determine how the proposed theme "Water for Human Consumption" can influence the training for citizenship of elementary school students of a school of public schools in the city of Abaetetuba, generating in this context two thematic booklets on the proposal, namely: a thematic booklet for students and a booklet with activity suggestions for the teacher. The used theoretical foundation hás two sections. The first incorporates the approach in Science, Technology, Society and Environment and his notes to improve the teaching of science through teaching by theme based on three pedagogical moments of Delizoicov, Angotti and Pernambuco (2011), from the context of situations students in order to involve them actively in the search for solutions through diversified activities. In the second section I write about scientific knowledge related to water and its influence on the teaching of science. The research environment was formed through a short course, attended by eleven students of the sixth grade of elementary school as research subjects, as well as teacher-researcher. The action research was the methodological option chosen in this study to collect data, which are analyzed in light of the interpretative analysis of Creswell (2007). The data showed that the subject worked in the Science approach, Technology, Society and Environment enables students to recognize the problems of their reality, allowing its insertion in the search for solutions, and also shows the importance of working everyday reality, paying attention the difficulties of the students to express themselves orally and in writing. As for the teacher researcher, this study showed how reflective practice was important for the conduct of short course activities. Regarding the product of this work, the two primers for use in teaching-learning situation, I consider it possible that the treatment of the subject, because aroused the interest of students to continue the activities culminating in presentations to the school community. And yet, there was the drafting of a letter by students with proposals to solve specific problems that was sent to the school towards improving knowledge about the problems and possible solutions observed by students in their school environment, with regard to access to water for human consumptionItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aprendi no insta! : os studygrams e a educação online de biologia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-08-30) COELHO, Yuri Cavaleiro de Macêdo; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646Studygrams are profiles on the social network Instagram that share different types of digital content with an educational, informative and instructional bias, such as study routines and materials. The growth of this type of profile highlights the need for contemporary society to learn, teach and obtain information in ways different from traditional ones. Faced with this new movement in the use of social networks on the internet in education, this study aimed to understand the difficulties and possibilities of using Studygrams in the context of teaching Biology learning and training for citizenship, in online education initiatives in higher education. . The research is characterized as qualitative, within the approaches of netnographic research and research-education in cyberculture. The information was recorded in a hypertextual field notebook and submitted to Discursive Textual Analysis. In the netnographic research, we explored ten Studygrams with high engagement that published content related to Biology. The context of research-training in cyberculture was based on an Interactive Didactic Design (IDD) for the creation and management of 17 Studygrams, implemented in a private Higher Education Institution in Belém, capital of the state of Pará, with 154 students from the area of health – Nutrition, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy – who were studying Histology and Embryology. The results reveal that Studygrams represent a new culture of learning and teaching, which can be used in online Biology education as a source of information and a space for carrying out activities. The IDD activities allowed students to approach histological knowledge in an informative, explanatory, critical, interdisciplinary and contextualized way; to elaborate and share (co)authorships and academic experiences; and horizontalize the relationship with the teacher. On the other hand, students reported difficulties in selecting, organizing and presenting in a succinct, logical and creative way the large amount of information available on the internet on the topics covered. Although they emphasize that real-time monitoring of the dynamics and actions of the teams and their Studygrams demands time, planning, organization and increases the workload outside the classroom, the professors-researchers point out that working in online Biology education potentiated co-participation in (co)authorship shared virtually; the exercise of creative capacity of pedagogical intentions for hypertextual, interactive and plural environments; the appropriation of the continuous training path; and the resignification of teaching and training experiences. The experiences with the IDD raised elements with the potential to guide processes of evaluation of the learning of biological contents and the development of values and attitudes towards citizenship, as well as to support the construction of evaluation instruments capable of bringing data on the real impact of the IDD and providing opportunities reflections on students' understanding and performance; the obstacles that prevent them from achieving better performances and developments; and the different skills that can be promoted in online Biology education in higher education.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Competências digitais de futuros professores: o papel de intervenções pedagógicas para a alfabetização científica e tecnológica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-05-03) FLORÊNCIO, Felipe Jailson Souza Oliveira; ELIASQUEVECI , Marianne Kogut; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687The present investigation is situated within the context of the need to prepare undergraduate students in initial teacher education as future educators for the early years of basic education or for youth, adult, and elderly education (EJAI). This preparation aims to equip them to address the demands of contemporary education, which require both the use of digital technologies and mastery of scientific and technological concepts. Beyond improving the use of technologies, this preparation should also foster critical thinking and citizenship education. Thus, the objective of this dissertation was to analyze how pedagogical interventions can promote the development of digital competencies among future teachers in an integrated manner with scientific and technological literacy. The research methodology involved a pedagogical intervention carried out in the first semester of 2023 during a teaching practicum with first-year students of the Integrated Teacher Education Program in Science, Mathematics, and Languages at the Federal University of Pará. This intervention was conducted within the scope of the course “Pedagogical Technological Resources I,” a mandatory curricular component of the program. The intervention comprised three stages: 1. Diagnostic Assessment: identified students’ socioeconomic profiles and their habits regarding digital technologies. 2. Self Assessment: allowed students to reflect on their levels of proficiency in digital competencies based on an adapted framework of the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu). 3. Activity with the educational product "Science in Question" (Guedes, 2021), a card game designed to foster discussions on the relationship between science, technology, and society. Among the main findings, it was observed that the class consisted of students from diverse age groups, with low household income and limited access to digital technologies. The most commonly used device was the smartphone, primarily for entertainment and communication rather than academic purposes. However, there was an expressed interest in developing digital competencies for educational purposes, such as creating presentations, writing scientific papers, and using digital tools in the classroom. The pedagogical intervention contributed to the development of indicators for students’ scientific and technological literacy, based on the integration of the game’s thematic axes with the structural axes of scientific literacy. Furthermore, the primary outcome of the study is the proposal of an integration matrix linking proficiency levels in digital competencies with indicators of scientific and technological literacy. This matrix is intended to assist educators in designing theoretical practical activities when planning pedagogical interventions. The research highlights the importance of considering students’ socioeconomic contexts in the planning of pedagogical interventions and emphasizes that developing digital competencies, integrated with scientific and technological literacy, is essential for the training of future teachers. The dissertation follows a multi-paper format (or multiple-article format), comprising four scientific articles, each focusing on a specific objective of the investigation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O conhecimento tecnológico pedagógico de conteúdos (TPACK) na prática docente em ciências naturais: a projeção do TPACK dos formadores nas intenções de ensino dos professores em formação na UFPA-Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-09-30) VILLA-GARCÍA, Leidy Yurani; ZAMBRANO, Alfonso Claret; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4795-6037; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This thesis proposes to advance the knowledge about the development of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in the training of bachelors, identifying the influence of the TPACK of the teacher educators who guide the disciplines of the teaching practice, in the teaching intentions of the teachers in training. on this specific case, the study addresses three central aspects: (i) Identification of the theoretical-methodological contributions evidenced by the state of the art (national and international) on the TPACK built before year 2020, (ii) Identification and analysis of the theoretical-methodological contributions that are evidenced in the TPACK of the mentor professors in the Natural Sciences Bachelor's program at UFPA, and the (iii) identification and analysis of the theoretical-methodological contributions of the TPACK of the mentor professors that are evidenced in the teaching intentions of the professors in training in the UFPA Bachelor's degree. The research used a qualitative methodology with an interpretive approach, as an instrumental case study, with which it was possible: characterize theoretical-methodological contributions that support the elements of TPACK in teaching practice and the indicators for their identification; identify the theoretical-methodological contributions in the practice of the mentor teacher through the analysis of the decisions and actions of the teachers who guide the disciplines of teaching practice during planning and teaching; and, finally, the theoretical-methodological contributions in the teaching intentions of the future teachers were identified. With this, the analysis leads us to verify that there is a projection of the TPACK of the mentor teachers in the teaching intentions of the teachers in training. Thus, the research offers a point of view on the inclusion of reflection in the dynamics of teaching practice in a specific context, in order to enhance the construction of the TPACK and contribute to improve the processes in which we learn to teach science from the experience. Among the relevant results, we can identify the theoreticalmethodological contributions that expanded the conceptual framework of the TPACK and allow us to analyze the TPACK that is being built through teaching practice in the Bachelor's degree. These results can be used by teacher trainers in postgraduate, undergraduate and basic education programs, as well as in open programs and courses with the intention that teachers in training and in service can identify their TPACK and develop it.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ensino de ciências na educação infantil: uma proposta lúdica na abordagem ciência, tecnologia e sociedade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-02-04) COSTA, Edith Gonçalves; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646Science teaching in Early Childhood Education has consolidated an important space in research in the field of education and in teaching practices, promoting new ways of thinking about the education of young children. In this vein, this study aimed to analyze the contributions of the association between playfulness and the STS approach to science teaching in a class of Early Childhood Education. The study methodology adopted a qualitative approach, such as pedagogical intervention, which took place in a Child Education Unit in the Municipality of Belém / PA. The intervention method adopted consisted of playful activities with a STS approach on the school environment, theme having as subjects, 25 children, in the age group of four to five years. The instruments used to obtain the data were photographs, field diaries, audio recordings and drawings produced by the children during the activities. For the interpretation of the data, Discursive Textual Analysis was used. From the analysis it was observed that STS principles emerged in the playful activities during the learning situations promoting the problematization of social issues by the children, in their participation in decisions regarding the subjects covered, in the construction of attitudes and values related to care for the environment, as well as in the promotion of interdisciplinary, contextualized and dialogical science teaching. The association between STS Approach, Playfulness and Science Teaching proved to be possible, showing that playfulness is a basic element to bring themes that involve STS interactions because, considering that play represents the guiding activity in early childhood, playful activities are essential to have an education that corroborates with their needs and that promotes meaningful learning and positive developments for the integral development of the child, including on approaches to diverse topics such as those involving STS relations. It is concluded that bringing STS Education to the field of Early Childhood Education poses itself as a great challenge, however necessary so that it can also contribute to the promotion of children's scientific education, with a view to stimulating their criticality and the construction of a favorable terrain for the exercise of their citizenship, taking into account the specificities that involve this phase of human development .Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ensino-aprendizagem de conteúdos de biodiversidade e genética com ênfase em ciências, tecnologia e sociedade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-10-11) SOUSA, Elson Silva de; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646In the context of science education, the Science, Technology and Society (CTS) approach has been influencing the development of innovative didactic and curricular proposals that can bring significant contributions to the promotion of Scientific and Technological Literacy (STL) of individuals capable of acting with responsibility. I sought to investigate the contributions of the development of a teaching sequence with STS approach on teaching and learning of biodiversity and genetic contents in high school. In this perspective, I present a research with a qualitative approach, of the educational research-action type, whose didactic-pedagogical intervention was developed through a teaching sequence and a didactic notebook constructed, applied and analyzed in this study. To that end, I took as a base the theoretical-practical and methodological references of authors who discuss the teaching of sciences under the STS perspective and the proposition of didactic sequence, contemplating the concepts of STL, curriculum with a STS focus, decision making, training for citizenship, typology of conceptual, procedural and attitudinal contents and the methodological dynamics known as the three pedagogical moments. The implementation of the didactic sequence occurred in real conditions of the classroom, having as participants subjects nineteen students of the third year of high school in a public school of the federal education network. As techniques and instruments of data production, I selected the participant observation, group conversations, the textual production of the students and the application of questionnaires. In the analysis of the data, the studied phenomenon is interpreted and understood, attributing qualified results in an intuitive and systematic way, to evaluate the potentialities and limitations of the developed teaching proposal, both in terms of the quality of the interactions between student-material and studentsstudents, as well as the conceptual, procedural and attitudinal contents seized by the students. The results of the research work indicated that the development of a didactic sequence, with a CTS approach, provides the necessary reflections and discussions for the development of ethical and moral values, attitudes committed to ecological sustainability, and personal positions on social and environmental issues. understanding of scientific knowledge and of the relationships and interactions between science, technology and society.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O espaço não formal e o ensino de ciências: um estudo de caso no Centro de Ciências e Planetário do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-12-06) OLIVEIRA, Endell Menezes de; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646At every moment, other ways of doing and thinking about teaching knock at the doors of schools and invite them to rethink their relationship with the community. The non-formal spaces of education, increasingly, have been a field of research in the area of science education. The Science Museums become attractive spaces for the general public and especially the school, where teachers seek other ways to teach and enhance learning in basic education. In this perspective, the objective of this work was to analyze how science teaching occurs in the Center of Sciences and Planetarium of the State of Pará (CCPP). The work has a qualitative approach, using as a strategy the case study (single and holistic), and to describe and analyze the data was used Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA). The research subjects are undergraduates (biology, physics and chemistry) who act as monitors in the CCPP. From the data obtained it is observed that the division between formal/non-formal/informal science education is a tenuous and permeable line that allows characteristics to transcend the hermetic definitions of the literature of the area. It has been found that there are many formal/informal characteristics in non-formal science education. The teaching of hybrid science emerges in the research as a possibility of mixing spaces, public, methodologies, objectives and primary and secondary characteristics. It is considered with the discussion that the field of non-formal science teaching comes without constituting as an area of exponent research and of inevitable encounter for schools, universities and for society as a whole.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Espaços não formais de ensino: perspectivas para a formação inicial de professores(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-07-10) RODRIGUES, Márcio Henrique Simião; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This paper presents considerations about the use of non-formal spaces for the development of activities aimed at teaching science in the initial years of elementary education. The objective was to investigate the student conception about the use of non-formal educational spaces, and how these spaces, contributes to the initial teacher training process, making use of different teaching strategies. The research has a qualitative approache of participant nature. Three Pedagogical Stepes (presentation of theme, conceptual develpmente and production-evaluation) were used as a teaching strategy, based on Brito’s (2004) proposoal for teaching of science through regional themes. In order to investigate the conceptions of research subjects about working with, in or the non-formal teaching space, questionnaires were given so that the students could report their experiences with the development of the activities. As a culmination of the activities, an Arts Exhibition was held where students presented several productions related to the use of non-formal teaching spaces in the City of Belém/PA. The productions presented at the Arts Exhibition were also analyzed and, according to the results, point to a positive evaluation of the learning of the research subjects regarding the use of nonformal teaching spaces from play activities and teaching through of regional themes. The results point to a good understanding on the part of the research subjects on how to work the non-formal space and in non-formal space, but they have differences on how to work with non-formal teaching space. The considerations show that teaching through regional themes can be a great ally for the development of activities that are related to the use of non-formal teaching spaces, allowing an attempt to escape traditional practices both in the context of initial teacher training, and in Early Childhood Education.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Histórias para entender ciências na Amazônia: educação CTS a partir de temáticas regionais decoloniais no ensino fundamental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-11-25) RODRIGUES, Iris Caroline dos Santos; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646In the early years of elementary school, children question the world around them, begin to build their concepts and contact with science has an impact on their perception of the world. This study aimed to investigate and analyze the possibilities of a CTS Education in science teaching, from the insertion of decolonial regional themes in the Amazon, with 5th grade students. In this context, the present work is presented as a qualitative methodology, of the Teaching Case Study, with analysis of results by means of Discursive Textual Analysis (DAT). Which resulted in the creation of an Educational Product, in E-book format: Stories for understanding and teaching Science in the Amazon. It presents a collection of five stories based on themes and problems related to science teaching. Among the themes, the first story (When I discovered that the Milky Way was a gathering of tapirs) was selected to be developed with a class involving twelve 5th grade students in a private school in the city of Ananindeua/PA. The chosen text is oriented to the teaching of Astronomy, which, based on the study of Brazilian indigenous constellations, seeks a reflection on the consequences of industrial development and growth of cities on the observation of celestiais stars. As instruments for collecting information, we considered the productions made by the children, in the form of drawings and texts, in addition to the record of the teacher's observations during the development of the activities. Through the DTA for the interpretation of the data obtained, it was observed that the activity allowed the development of important principles of the STS Education, such as the problematization of social issues, contextualization and interdisciplinarity, the exercise of decision-making, in addition to the development of a critical and decolonial science teaching, from a reflection about the epistemological bases of scientific knowledge. Thus, the proposal of Science Teaching from the perspective of STS Education, based on a decolonial theme, proved to be possible and feasible, an alternative for the democratization of Science teaching in the Amazon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Letramento científico e habilidades didáticas em produções escritas de professores de ciências(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-04-26) GOMES, Ana Silvia Alves; LUCIO, Elizabeth Orofino; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9802121543478378; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3446-5530; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This research aimed to identify, describe, and point out possible correlations between levels of scientific literacy and teaching skills of elementary school teachers. This is exploratory qualitative-quantitative research, where the MAXQDA 2020 and JAMOVI 2.2.5 software were used to produce content analysis and descriptive statistics of collected data, together with a group of 18 (eighteen) teachers from basic education, freshmen of a stricto sensu postgraduate course, who voluntarily answered questions from the so-called Scientific Literacy Skills Test (TOSLS) and prepared, in writing, proposals for didactic sequences. To analyze these proposals, a Didactic Skills Analysis Protocol (PAHD) was created, whose analysis categories were inspired by the ideas of contemporary constructivist authors. The analysis of the results of the categorization of didactic skills evidence showed that the participants presented, on average, half of the didactic skills of a constructivist nature proposed in the PAHD. On average, participants in this study also did not perform well on the TOSLS. The data obtained were not sufficient to support the hypothesis of correlation between Scientific Literacy and Teaching Skills. However, it is not possible to rule out the possibility of observing the occurrence of statistically significant correlations between such abilities in sufficiently larger and more diversified samples. The results suggest that, if one is interested in implementing curricular guidelines and teaching-learning-assessment strategies of a constructivist nature in schools, it is necessary to increase teacher training programs with objectives, themes and teaching strategies focused on skills that had a low incidence. in this study, since, as discussed in the text, all of them are essential for planning and conducting classes of a constructivist nature and important for the professional development of teachers. Although there is still much to be explored on the issue of didactic skills, the scope of this thesis, and particularly the PAHD, had great potential as an instrument for research and professional development. Despite the limitations pointed out, the results and scope of this thesis constitute an important reference both for future research and for eventual reformulations in science teacher training programs, in view of the empirical results, the theoretical discussions and the methodological ideas it contains.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Letramento científico, letramento em língua materna e a abordagem ciência, tecnologia, sociedade e ambiente: indicadores e possibilidades para o ensino de ciências(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06-24) RIBEIRO, Dayane Negrão Carvalho; LUCIO, Elizabeth Orofino; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9802121543478378; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3446-5530; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This research was motivated by the professional and personal experiences of the teacher and author of this thesis and aimed to understand the development processes of scientific literacy and literacy in the mother tongue, based on teaching practices through the Science, Technology, Society and Environment (STSE) approach, and also to identify indicators of these processes. For the development of the research it was necessary to define and defend the use of the concepts and theoretical basis of the STSE approach, literacy in the mother tongue and scientific literacy as well as its relationship with science research and teaching. The methodology of the study adopted a qualitative approach, from the pedagogical intervention type, which took place in a public elementary and high school, in a municipality in the state of Pará, with the participation of students graduating from the 6th year of elementary school. The activities developed during the intervention were based on the socio-environmental theme “The Tidal Phenomenon”, considering scientific, technological, social and environmental implications of this theme, from the perspective of Teaching by Research. The instruments used for the constitution of data were: audio and video recordings, photographs, questionnaires, registration of students' activities and the teacher's research diary. For data analysis and interpretation, Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) was used. Through the results, the thesis defends that science teaching activities through the STSE approach in elementary school, from the perspective of the involved study, promote learning with the development of scientific literacy and literacy in the mother tongue, showing indicators. The constituted data allowed us to verify that the teaching activities through the STSE approach enable contributions regarding the expansion of the students' vision, the expression of everyday language and the development of scientific language, with natural conditions of reading and writing and the adoption of a more active attitude. The development of activities also led to the proposition of indicators of scientific literacy processes in the mother tongue, observed in the analysis, to evidence the construction of scientific knowledge and reading and writing skills through the STSE approach, considering the decision-making capacity development process. The indicators are: obtaining information, organizing information, interpreting information, articulating text and context, communicating ideas, preparing questions, articulating term and concept, analysis and judgment, expression of action strategies and selection of action. These indicators were organized into three grouping blocks. They are: Reading and Contextualization; Thought and Integration; Decision and Action. The results allow us to affirm that the students were in the process of developing scientific literacy in their mother tongue and that this research contributes to the field of Science Teaching, representing advances in the construction of knowledge from the perspective of teaching and training of teachers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Meio ambiente e lixo eletrônico: uma abordagem CTSA, a partir de uma ilha interdisciplinar de racionalidade, no ensino de ciências(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-10-23) PACHECO, Patrícia Quaresma; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9432-2646This research is the result of a feeling that emerged from the professional experience of teachers, that is, from the need to transform the practice. It presents as main objective to investigate the contributions of the development of an Interdisciplinary Island of Rationality in the CTSA approach, from the Environment and Electronic Junk topic, for the promotion of scientific, technological and citizen literacy of elementary school students. For that, the methodological strategy of the Interdisciplinary Island of Rationality (IIR) proposed by Gérard Fourez (1997) was elaborated and applied, in a ninth grade class, in a state primary and secondary school in the municipality of Abaetetuba / PA, in the year of 2017. This research is qualitative, of the participant type. The research environment consisted of a mini-course, in which 26 students participated as subjects of the research, in addition to the teacherresearcher. The data were collected through the application of a semistructured questionnaire, with the objective of identifying the students' previous knowledge about the subject, electronic waste; records in the field diary of the subjects investigated and the teacher-researcher; audiovisual records; and elaboration of posters, banner and drawings by the students, which constituted the empirical material of this research. For the treatment of this material, I used Creswell's interpretive analysis (2010), from which emerged two categories: students' "looks" about electronic junk: from prior knowledge to the construction of scientific knowledge and the re-signification of teaching practice author of this study) in Science Teaching. The results show that the students' previous knowledge is in line with the elaboration and opening of the black boxes that composed the project, in a way that met their wishes and curiosities, and gave them the opportunity to construct a "look" that carries important understandings for the decision-making and for the acquisition of positions that are related to the collective, in which tangible rights and duties. The reflections present in the second category show that the action-reflection about the practice when developing the Interdisciplinary Island of Rationality, allowed me to make significant weights, punctuating obstacles and possibilities of my know-how, such as: student autonomy, compromised negotiation, research, available time, among others. Thus, in view of the diversity and complexity of the school space and of the methodological strategy of IIR, I conclude that the Interdisciplinary Island of Rationality, based on the CTSA approach, for dissociating itself from disciplinary teaching and aiming to promote the domain of knowledge, autonomy and communication / expression of the students, reveals with significant potential in the construction of the citizenship education of elementary school students. Finally, from the knowledge that emerged in this research was constructed a book directed to the teachers of the elementary school, in order to offer a material that can subsidize the realization of IIR in the educational spaces.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Os sentidos da pluralidade de atividades no ensino de biologia: uma pesquisa-ação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-01-17) CUNHA, André Luiz Rodrigues dos Santos; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687Teaching of Biological Sciences continues to prioritize oral exposure as a strategy in the classroom, even though teachers are aware that, in education, students can not be viewed as homogeneous. Unlike a predominantly teaching with lectures, I have questioned: does the variability of instructional strategies provide increased motivation and participation of students for study and learning Biology? To reflect on this issue, I sought to understand how students' motivation was affected by the diversification of teaching Biology activities. The method chosen was a qualitative approach through action research. The locus of the research was the Escola de Aplicação (School of Application) of the Universidade Federal do Pará (Federal University of Pará), in the city of Belém, due to its proposition of diversification and experimentation of educational activities. The subjects were six students graduating from high school. The survey was conducted in twenty- one (21) weekly meetings in the shift from the regular classes, in the period April to December 2012. Several subjects of Biology proposed by me as a teacher-researcher and/or requested by students were worked using various strategies such as recreational activities, movies, music, text, textbook, field activities, comics and oral presentation. There was dialogue with the authors that deal with these strategies as well as with González Rey theory of subjectivity to understand the subjective meanings of the participating students. In this study, I sought to highlight the perceptions of students, and how each educational activity conducted influenced the production of meanings in different subjects involved. I emphasize that the motivation was not achieved by simple variation of activities, but the line established between students and teachers from diverse strategies worked. It was understood by this paper that motivation is not something universally achieved, but a multidimensional concept, in other words, composed of various dimensions and that in the case of the subjectivity of the subjects involved is associated with meanings that emerge from the situation experienced by them in the course activities. Motivation is not innate, but a co-construction of the subjects involved in this scenario and that the goals and objectives of teachers and students need to be tuned and point in the same direction.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A transposição didática no ensino de física: o aquecimento global como objeto de estudo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-05-22) SILVA, Edilene da Silva e; ALMEIDA, Ana Cristina Pimentel Carneiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1265908866509687This research aims to highlight the epistemological model which is adopted by professor of Physics at the approach to the topic Global Warming (GW) classes in the second year of high school. In this perspective, it has been the main objective is to investigate how the internal didactic transposition of the theme GW in physics teaching within the teaching practice, looking for the answer to the following question: How physics teachers conceive epistemological models relating to GW? For this we use a qualitative approach with a case study with eyes on three physics teachers who teach in public schools in the city of Fortaleza. Data collection used the questionary, semistructured interview and finally the observation of lessons. Data analysis was complemented by the school adopted textbooks and didactic materials used by teachers. These analyses revealed that the knowledge of physics and design of epistemological models belong to the praxeological dimension of each teacher as epistemological models Natural and Anthropogenic GW influence the characterization of teaching models. These models are born in each text knowledge achieved in the classroom. The textbooks do not determine the upper bound of the form role models in class and yes, contribute to the formation of physical models. On the other hand, there is the possibility of redeeming features of the two epistemological models when discussing the issue of natural climate GW associated to human action, and that means to say that there is a correlation opinions seeking answers in two models epistemological reference and ending on the issue of global warming prove to be the reason for global warming in praxeology teachers research subjects.
