Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação do uso de lodos de estação de tratamento de água como matéria-prima na confecção de tijolos cerâmicos: estudo de caso - ETA Bolonha(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-06-26) MULLER, Elzelis de Aguiar; LIMA, Alberto Carlos de Melo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0524669127885256; MACHADO, Luiza Carla Girard Teixeira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9773700229115395This study aimed to evaluate the possibility of incorporating the sludge in the water treatment station of Bolonha (RMB), in the manufacture of ceramic bricks for use in construction. Two units of flow of mud (UDL) were established and operationalized in the ETA Bolonha. Before the preparation of ceramic bricks, the mud flows were ETA Bologna in UDL's that were equipped with open collar, and then were characterized physically and mineralogically. The sludge was added to the ceramic body of a local industry for the production of bricks. Various proportions of silt and clay mixture were tested in order to find the appropriate proportion to the production of ceramic bricks (10%, 12% and 20% of sludge in the ceramic body ETA). Laboratory tests were conducted to assess its strength, water absorption, an appropriate size and visual appearance. It was not possible to incorporation of 20% of mud to ceramic body due to the high plasticity and the difficulty of manufacture of ceramic bricks, however, the proportions of 10% and 12% of sludge from ETA were the ones that had better results on the parameters of resistance, indicating that the ceramic bricks can be produced with the incorporation of up to 12% of sludge from ETA.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo da viabilidade econômica para a utilização da semente da euterpe oleracea mart. (açaí) como recurso energético(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-07-09) LUCZYNSKI, Miroslawa; MACHADO, Luiza Carla Girard Teixeira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9773700229115395This work had as objective the study of the economic viability for the Euterpe oleraceas Mart. (açaí) seed use as energy resource in the city of Belém-PA. Initially, it was realized a field survey of the sail points and quarters of biggest production of açaí, carrying through after that the assays of the termogravimetric properties of the seeds that are: Humidity text, volatile text, cinzas text, fixed carbon text and superior calorific power. The survey points made possible the creation of a data base, using the Microsoft Software Access, which supplies reports with the identification of the proprietors name, as well as the number of bags that is it processes per day, weight of bag and its energy potential. It was used still the Microsoft ARC VIEW, of easy interaction with Access that made possible the creation of an up to date map of the points for the city of Belém-PA. With those data a study of the transport routes was made in the Geographic Information System (GIS) GOOGLE EARTH. There were determined routes, through the Centroid method, which is the point of highest concentration of the variable of study, in this case, the açaís seed, for the transport of biomass to its final destination that is the UFPA, where if it finds the plant that uses the biomass as combustible to generate energy. When calculating the economic viability there were used the plant of Energy and Biomass of the Group of Energy, Biomass and Environment (EBMAs) together with the data of the consumption of electric energy of the UFPA in the period from 06/2006 to 06/2007, finally it was realized a comparison between the values gotten in the two done surveys and the confirmation of how much the UFPA would save in financial and energy terms with the biomass energy use. In conclusion the açaís seed is economically viable as energy resource for energy supply in UFPA, since the cost of supplied electric energy the concessionaire services the CELPA must exceed the cost of the renewable generation system, thus causing an economy in the final value, of the consumption of electric energy.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo das perdas de água no sistema de abastecimento e nas residências do conjunto Benjamim Sodré(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-08-07) VIÉGAS, Alessandro Abadessa; MACHADO, Luiza Carla Girard Teixeira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9773700229115395This work presents a study of water losses in the water supply system of Benjamim Sodré Sector. The work was divided in two steps, as follows: experimental step and results step. Later, data were evaluated and the main results have focused on: characterization and evaluation of the consumers register, revenue and measured water from the down categories of the sector, as well as, the Water Supply System water flows. Besides that, it was made the calculation of some basic performance indicators, such as (index): water loss in the distribution (70,04%), water loss in the revenue (70,61%), water gross loss linear (157,96 L/m.d), connection water loss (1.446,41 L/connection.day), measurement (72,27%) and the global losses (70,93%). Also, it was possible to know the socioeconomic level of the population (30%) of the down categories R2 and R3 of the sector (176 houses), in which the results showed that about 94% of the interviewees who pay only the water bill affirmed to practice waster losses in their houses. The water quality was also analyzed. And it was verified that about 71,50% of the interviewees have considered it bad quality, which may contribute in a important way to the occurrences of Transmissible Hydric Diseases, because it was verified that 24% of the population presented problems concerning to diarrheas, worms, hepatitis A and scabies in the last years. It was made an evaluation of the water uses in the several domestic activities of the down categories R2 and R3. There is a loss of R$ 426,38 per month in the water bill of all consumers that contribute to water leaks in their homes. Finally, it is shown that for the activity of washing the dishes the consumer would have a reduction on the water bill average value of 89,28%. Additionally, to take bath: 43,66%, to wash clothes: 34,23%, to wash the sidewalk: 84,80%, and to brush their teeth 17,06%, referring the down categories R2 and R3.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Influência do leito de contato na eficiência de remoção de ferro de águas subterrâneas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-12-27) LIMA, Rosete Ferreira de; MACHADO, Luiza Carla Girard Teixeira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9773700229115395The present work consisted on the evaluation of the acting of a Pilot Iron Removal Plant (IRP), regarding the presence or absence of contacting surface. The Pilot IRP is composed by an multiple tray aerator, a contact surface by ascending flow and a downflow rapid sand filter, sited at Federal University of Pará, using raw water from underground water deposits, containing high quantity of Iron, around 2mg/L, above the 0.3mg/L established on the 518/2004 law. During the monitoring two experimental phases were made, the first with the contact surface and the second without it, being adopted three filtration rates: 180m/mxday, 270m/mxday and 360m/mxday. In the experimental phases were appraised the following variables: pH, Color, Total Iron, Ferrous Iron and the turbidity. The efficiency of removal of total iron obtained for the rates of filtration of 180m/mxday, 270m/mxday and 360m/mxday with the contact surface was 93% to 94%, 85 % to 95% and 91% to 92%, respectively. Without the contact surface the efficiency of extracting of iron was around 91% to 93%, 91% to 93% and 88% to 93%, respectively. The filtration duration with contact surface for the rates of 180m/mxday, 270m/ mxday and 360m/mxday presented duration of 41h, 30h and 22,7h, respectively, while with the absence of contact surface the medium duration was of 16h, 12h and 4,7h respectively. In that way it can be concluded that the contact surface is an indispensable unit in a IRP, because it improves the system acting, producing effluent of good quality effluent and langers filtrat ons.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Metodologia para o gerenciamento integrado saudável dos resíduos sólidos da bacia da estrada nova do município de Belém/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-06-25) PINHEIRO, Janary Fonseca; MACHADO, Luiza Carla Girard Teixeira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9773700229115395This work aims to create a methodology for the Integrated Management of Solid Waste (GIRS) that combines practice relevant to the topic, with programs involving the community, to keep the environment clean and healthy, with the scenario City of Bethlehem, specifically Watershed of New Road (BHEN). Also aims to identify why, despite the BHEN own collection of waste and cleaning services performed by the Municipal Department of Sanitation (SESAN), remains the same, constantly dirty. mainly of rubble and garbage thrown on public roads and canals, drainage basin that The fieldwork consisted of interviews with key actors that work, the community of BHEN. Innovation in the city a model of programs for the participation of people with the name of Active Citizenship and Community Participation (CIPAC) offering 20 programs: Mascot of environmental education; Boteco in Boteco; I love my city; Hello community; TV SOS "Environment; "Radio" Awake community theater; Coral "Recycle"; Educa mobile; Collection selective schools; the environment calls ride; Center memory; School of garbage; Meet the trash; Community footnote 10; Future green; Selective Collection "Door to Door"; Implementation of LEVs; Creation of basic ecological units; Creation of central recycling of rubbish; creation of units of sorting recyclable materials; creation of cooperatives of collectors and waggoners. Makes a forecast of investment for establishing and maintaining these programs as well as the return on investment applied to the deployment. As a result, presents a new model, based on practice, as support for the establishment of a municipal policy, according to the Law of the National Policy for Solid Waste (PNRS) that deal in Congress. Identified parameters were also able to identify the inadequacy of the current process of collection and cleaning services in this basin. These results show that a large population of BHEN is not ready to join a program of Solid Waste Management (GRS), which takes as its starting point the GIRS. The level of schooling and level of knowledge of the community do not represent obstacles to this, but the lack of programs that involve their participation, the collection of waste and urban cleaning services rendered properly, because, currently, the field research conducted, were visibly disapproved. Finally, also concludes that only with the deployment of a GIRS, CIPAC with the support of the environment would be considerably benefited, but not solve the serious environmental problems of BHEN will require the improvement of all systems of urban infrastructure in this important watershed for an effect really more healthy. It's important to emphasize that at present, the proposals for this work are considered very timely, since the beginning of the implementation of the Program of Urban-Environmental Recovery of the Basin of New Road (PROMABEM) financed by the Municipal Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the health and environmental problems of this important basin have high probability of being solved.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pecuária bovina de corte no Estado do Pará: água, impactos ambientais e sustentabilidade ambiental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-09-28) PEREIRA, Sueli de Lima; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de Macedo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1902384822911246; MACHADO, Luiza Carla Girard Teixeira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9773700229115395The beef chain in Brazil occupies a prominent position in the context of rural Brazilian economy, occupying large areas of national territory and accounting for the generation of jobs and rent of millions of Brazilians. But with the growth of this activity was accompanied by possible negative environmental impacts that opposes the dynamic balance of sustainability. Thus it was necessary to characterize these negative environmental impacts related to water resources in the stages of the production chain of beef: Cattle and slaughterhouses/ refrigerators. In the research were emphasized water consumption and generation of bovine tailings causing potential pollution of water resources defined in geographical areas of the mesoregions in the state of Pará. The methodology was used for qualitative and quantitative bibliographic data and statistics research, with the collaboration of the federal and state institutions and the data analysis was presented through graphs and tables and the estimation of some indicators of pollution. The results confirm the great pollution to water resources generated receptors tailings cattle with large increase of BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) both in Cattle and slaughterhouses/ refrigerators activity, where it generated a large amount of organic matter. It was concluded the importance of using sustainable production measures such as reusing byproducts of cattles laughterhouse and the use of strategies Cleaner Production.
