Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Arte e mídia digitais: as relações de hibridação nas obras de artemídia de Giselle Beiguelman(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-03-29) LIMA, Diogo Chagas; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522Media Art emerges as a field of study, taking into account cultural and artistic exchanges in contemporary Art. Hybridization of concepts and practices highlights the interrelationships of advances in Art, Science and Technology. The objective is to study the relationship of hybridization in the works of Media Art of Brazilian artist Giselle Beiguelman. Analyze the ubiquity, the hybrid spaces, nomadism and intermediality in the flows of teleinterventios metalinguistic proposals of the artist. Thus, we address the emulation of nature´s systemic action, the metalanguage of printed and digital codes, the intermediality of sounds, images and words into hybrid objects; interactive interfaces. We discuss the hybrid spaces in the interactive proposals with nomadic technologies. The notion of flow is applied to the relationships of hybridization found in the artworks. Present Metaliguistic proposals on the Internet and teleinterventios. The Metaliguistic proposals employ morfogeneses and intermedialities to develop hybrids of printed and digital, also seek to expand the meaning of the book in cyberspace, recycling their codes in / with digital. The teleinterventios produce hybrid spaces, connecting streets, art galleries and websites, via nomadic devices. These artworks operate in the context of ubiquity and expansion of interaction in traffic situations between spaces. Deviations in logic programming provide relations of hybridization. The aesthetic proposals highlights the flows. The role of the artist becomes programmer interfaces and events. Emerge the systemic relationship between the artwork and the interactor.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cadernos do abismo: memorial de uma poética desenhada entre páginas de sketchbooks(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) FOLHA, Aline Rickmann; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This research presents the creative process of notebooks of the abyss, tiny sketchbooks in which I lay down existencial contents in autobiographical drawings. Based on the notion of “drawing as abyss”, developed by Icleia Cattani, I poetically elaborate the abyss itself as the issues that animate the depths of being and impel my creative process and my personal trajectory, locating this artistic practice in the range of those which belong to the autobiographical space and into the fields of contemporary drawing, whose experiential aspect is exalted: it connects more to life’s histories, to the rescue of personal memories and to the expression of emotions. The research aims to explore the creative process of the notebooks of the abyss throughout the autobiographical drawing as a caretaker poetic language that generates knowledge and self knowledge in the poetic trajectory of these notebooks which I consider as artist’s books. By crossing thoughts of Michel Foucault and Marcia Tiburi, this artistic work is connected with the notions of “self writing” and “care of the self” and is presented as a caretaker making, a practice of life. I look inside its founding procedures and reflect upon drawing from the mirror and other matters such as the line and the trace as poetic potencies and the connection between words and images as characteristic of this living writing, avid for reinforcing the understanding of sketchbooks as spaces that enable the artists to communicate their procedures and thoughts to theirselves as well as to others.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Campina: um filme em processo...(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-01-15) CORREIA, Rodrigo José Castro; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This memorial of artistic poetics aims to reflect on the process of creating the film Campina. It is the construction and idealization of a hybrid documentary or also known as docuficção in which both aspects of the documentary genre and fiction come together. The film, in general, addresses the landscape of the Campina neighborhood in Belém and its multiple aspects, and this landscape is composed of symbolic and residual elements such as architecture, monuments, signs and shop signs, accompanied by the human landscape, its inhabitants who make the daily life of Campina, a commercial district. To reflect on this process of procedural realization of the film, we used the authors Claudia Mesquita, (2011), the concept of unfinished gesture by Cecília Salles (2014), showing that the creation process is always active and never ceases. In addition, the research aims to reveal and point out relations of power and domination in the neighborhood landscape, using the concept of landscape invention according to Anne Cauquelin's thought and Pierre Bourdieu's symbolic power.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A casa de Marlene(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-06-29) NASCIMENTO, Suely da Silva; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This memorial presents the research “Marlene’s House”, which I developed in the Academic Master of Arts, Graduate Program in Arts, Institute of Art Sciences, Federal University of Pará. family and affective memories, in which photos, videos, audios, writings, feelings and emotions merge. The course is divided into moments experienced before and during the academy. I report the contribution of the disciplines and the production of articles. I talk about the construction of this poetics perceived in this path and tale about the day to day of the making of the research. My way of doing poetry, my mother’s schoolbook as the image that generates this whole process, the experimentation of creating an artist’s book and the photograph of my mother’s house complete this memorial. As well as my thoughts that there is still a significant poetic material to be worked on, in the future.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cidades em games: poéticas urbanísticas no espaço de jogo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-03-30) COSTA JUNIOR, José Maria Teixeira da; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522The work of this dissertation has as its object of study the urban spaces of vídeo games, called here by the word cities in games, from the analysis of its manifestation as models to be used by the discipline of urbanism as a field of visual studies and analyzes urban data. Such as urban planning, in its forms of technical research and design of urban forms, is used for game development, we believe there is an exchange of content very important for the future of these two areas of knowledge. So we start from the conceptual and theoretical analysis based on endoestética proposed by Claudia Giannetti and a theoretical shift using the elements of the city's image of Kevin Lynch in relation to the video game Grand Theft Auto, where we can prove the existence of all these relations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) DATUM - Interface eletrônica como meio de expressão da experiência(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-10-27) CARVALHO, Márcio Lins de; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This thesis addresses the experience of creating an experimental electronic game (game, for mobile devices, cell phones) called “DATUM” (work in process) developed from and during the doctorate period. These writings and their annexes address three different and complementary perspectives: the first on reflections on method and artistic creation in the academy; the second on the theoretical conceptions derived from the artistic creation of electronic games; the third on the sub-processes and hazards of game development; in addition to these, the thesis is also composed of the game itself. Taking these perspectives, the thesis proposes to experiment with the image, in the abstract sense, using a dynamic of building constellations to incite the projection of images by connecting stars; and the virtual with its interactive possibilities within a three-dimensional space.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) (Des)territórios da Arte contemporânea: multiterritorialidades na produção artística paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-02) COSTA, Gil Vieira; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This research analyzes the establishment of territorialities in the contemporary art, observing art practices developed specifically from the second half of the twentieth century. I apply the concept of multi-territoriality for contemporary art, studying how conventional and unconventional spaces are used in artistic practices analyzed. Some examples are mentioned to explain the processes of deterritorialization, reterritorialization and multiterritorialization, in contemporary art, focusing on artistic practices developed in the state of Pará.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Diante da cidade: uma poética do ao mesmo tempo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-06-20) GARCIA, Juan Martín Pérez; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A estética da media art: as obras de Christa Sommerer e Laurent Mignonneau(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-04) RABELLO, Rafaelle Ribeiro; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522The theoretical trends and creation activities intended to somehow walk sideby- side with the discoveries and tecno-scientific developments. The contemporary scientific and technological thoughts wide and transform material basis and the aesthetics's production mode potentials. Such transformations can be observed in the Media Art field, an attributive manifestation to the contemporary context, which the main artistic investigations are focused on Computational Art, Tele-presence Art, Iimmersion, Virtual Reality, Transgenic Art and Genetic Art. Therefore, this master thesis has the objective to investigate the Aesthetic Theories which emerge from the Media Art context and have foundations on the idea of interactivity and interface, such as the Christa Sommerer's and Laurent Mignonneau's aesthetic results idealized based on the scientific, technological and artistics' thoughts. Broadly, the notion of the “Art as a live system” is adopted in order to comprehend the interative process as a set of chained elements, subject to constant intervection.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Eu amo tudo o que não presta: punk e poética em trinta anos de Delinquentes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-11-21) SOUSA, Lucas Padilha de; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522Delinquentes is a band with thirty years of activity and it's one of the main references in rock and the underground scene from city of Belem, capital of State of Para, in Amazonia. This work intends to investigate the representation of this band, which is almost a patrimony to Belem rock scene, and what's its importance for the artists and fans whose are participating in this scene. What motivates many people even today to be interested by Delinquentes, for listening to its music and go to concerts? What made these artists resist three decades in an underground punk rock band in a scenario like Belem, carved on the margins of great brazilians cultural centers? How relevant is this band for other artists, veterans and young, and what it means today at this rock scene? The research begins in the context in which emerged the band Delinquentes in 1985, and later in the relationship established between the band and the participants of the Belem rock scene. This research uses theoretical studies of Stuart Hall (2014) on identities published in the book The Question of cultural identity to trace a recent historical parallel by the popular music in the State of Para and try to understand how was the formation of a rock tribe in the city of Belem. The research also passes through the understanding of Michel Maffesoli (2014) in the book Le Temps des Tribus to try to assimilate the dialogues between the band and other artists, producers and the fans. The research was conducted through bibliographic records, publications in newspapers, independent publications, the collection of the band, audiovisual records and interviews with current and former members of Delinquentes, producers, journalists, artists and fans. I have made an application of the tripartite methodology by Allan Merriam (1964) to relate these discourses from each author and build, through the language of ethnographic film, an audiovisual product as a final result of this research. The research goes of a audiovisual format to build an analytical discourse on the sound phenomenon. In this research the film is a way to tell the story like an audiovisual research method taking as theoretical architecture a methodology of ethnomusicology. The visual language of the film is based on the fanzine narrative, a very important independent publications for subcultures such as punk. This work proposes a reflection on the importance of Delinquentes band as well as its extensions in the consolidation of the underground scene of the city of Belem. My Cave is a serie of artistic procedures, started by Pablo Mufarrej in 2014, in Belém do Pará. It is a field of theoretical / practical / reflective studies around the possibilities of the exhibition of Contemporary Art. The research has as focus / open structural object issues related to the art-making mode and the ideas of accumulation, space-time, and vestige. Being the vestige a central concept / procedure of this work, it has been developed and applied in the research as a methodological, analytical and experiential tool, for the execution of its theoretical / practical / reflective unfolding. In this memorial / dissertation / work, the artistic work is not only a poetic, it is a reflection on a field that, throughout its development, generates platforms and/or works, and/or citation, and/or processes of art, and/or reflective processes that materialize, supposedly, as works, but which seek to constitute themselves as works / thoughts that pulsate the reflections and the traces generated by the research process itself. Marcel Duchamp, among other artists and works here presented, are configured as reflective structural points. Their trajectories and some aspects of their creations are appropriate as elementals / materials / tools to present varied aspects about contemporary artistic creation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Experiência de existir na pesquisa em artes como ato poético: o ponto de dobra e a ativação artística, lamber a cidade.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-11-27) BARBERY, Melissa; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This artistic-critical memorial is in the Research Line dedicated to the Artist Researcher and addresses the experience of existing in arts research as a poetic act. The journey undertaken by this experiment unfolds through the concept of Fold Point and the artistic activation of Licking the City. In the initial experiments, this videographic urban intervention was directly influenced by Vicente Cecim's text "Caught in the Act Against the Night / Cural Manifest" (1983) and the book/catalog "Uprisings" (Didi-Huberman, 2017). As a result of the path taken by the artist, it is believed that the presence of the artist-researcher in the university is a fundamental practice for a unique perspective on the relationship between art and society.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) INMUI - um instrumento musical uirapurino como canal comunicacional web em uma transfiguração estética temporal(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-07-01) MENDES, Valdemir Vinagre; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This work presents a virtual instrument for the uirapuru-verdadeiro genre to express the musical language of Albery Albuquerque Júnior, which is based on the animal‘s sonorities – the Forest Live Music. It is a project for a synchronous communication and it constitutes a device for the crystallization of such genre, while it transfigures aesthetically the data transmission process. It also utilizes randomness music and asymmetric sonorities caused by the velocity variation of data transmission on internet. Thus there will be two elements, the language of the animals, which constitutes the uirapurina sonorities, and the software. The organization of them is based on Albery‘s Transmorfismo and on the Relational Aesthetic of Nicolas Bourriaud.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Instagram: entre o excesso de imagens e a fluidez da memória(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-06-10) AZEVEDO, Thiago Guimarães; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This work aims to understand the relationship between image and memory in the universe of Instagram. ABSTRACT: This work aims to understand the relationship between image and memory in the universe of Instagram. For this, we first checked the universe image and its interaction with the individual, dialoguing with the modifications as its constitution from the development of technology, especially mobile devices like Smartphone’s and tablets, the primary means by which one can use the Instagram. But also research highlights the issue of the phenomenon of memory from the image, has as a methodological approach to phenomenology, in particular Merleau-Ponty, as is the construction of an imaginary from the experiences. The relevance of this work is to see that there is a relationship between individuals who transcends the issue of the device and Instagram manifests as support that assists the individual to explore their creativity in the form of images.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) INTERURBANO: a criação de uma exposição de arte e tecnologia em Belém-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-01-11) OLIVEIRA NETO, Raymundo Firmino de; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This study addresses the process of creating three interactive installations about the space of the city of Belém in the field of Art and Technology. In the research, electronic modifications were made in analog industrial objects appropriated as symbols of larger structures that involve the city’s dynamics in artistic installations, with aesthetic messages about the urban, river and forest space of Belém. Among the installations, there is a telephone that simulates connections with distant birds; a tap, that spurts reports from city’s residents about their relationship with water; and, an umbrella that reproduces soundscapes as it moves through space. The memorial contains the work's triggering ideas and the lines that sew the network that connects academic concepts to practice, the outside of the city to the inside of the gallery, the past and the present, the analog and the digital, the aesthetic and the communicational, art and life. The research involved reflection about the poetic use of technologies for sensory experiences with augmented space in interactive interfaces. The project had the collaboration of several professionals from different areas for its realization, as well as the participation of residents of the city. In addition to the installations Telephone, Umbrella and Tap that were mounted in the Long-Distance Call exhibition, the memorial describes the work Sound Waves that was developed after the exhibition as an offshoot of the research.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Journey: o jogo e a experiência como fonte de criação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-07-07) CARVALHO, Márcio Lins; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This dissertation discusses the experience with games (eletronic games), focused on case study that considers the analysis of the image, experience and mediation modes proposed by the game Journey (TGC, 2012). Therefore, there is the interactive, symbolic, interface and game functionality features in question and its aesthetic possibilities of dialogue with other art forms, such as comics and illustration. In this perspective, we make use of theories and authors that we consider relevant to the case study and relatable to important aspects in the approach of the game (Johan Huizinga, Roger Caillois, Eric Zimmerman, Katie Salen), imaginary (Gilbert Durand, Philippe Malrieu), experience in general and aesthetic experience in particular (Robert Solomon, John Dewey) and language and media (Lucia Santaella, Julio Plaza, Monica Tavares). Having the playful interaction as lens, it promotes an analysis of the intricacies of the game, its relations with the player(s), the questions posed during and at the end of his experience to thus understand how mimicry occurs with other means of expression that not only the game itself. The theoretical crossings tend to cooperate with the studies of the game while expanded field of art.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Poéticas do espaço aumentado: as possibilidades estéticas e políticas do uso da realidade aumentada(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-06-02) OLIVEIRA NETO, Raymundo Firmino de; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522Along with technological transformations of the XXI century, there are emerging devices that give a new dynamic to the man-machine-image relation, as well as to the perception of space and reality. Augmented Reality is one of those devices, which the relations of power, knowledge and subjectivity production are not yet fully comprehended in everyday life and in the field of media art. This research aims to comprehend the use of the device in artistic productions and its aesthetics and political possibilities from the case study of the international group Manifest.AR, besides other artists that have used augmented reality in their works. Assuming that these productions carry an investee against the logic of the device in relation to the field of art and lifetime. For this, Augmented Reality is approached as a dispositive, concept adapted from Michel Foucault, and associated with other art forms and media to discuss its specificity. The aesthetic and political discussion was proposed based on Lev Manovich’s concept of augmented space and Flusser’s concept of black box, as well as relational aesthetics of Nicolas Bourrioud and aesthetic communication of Mario Costa. The research showed that although Augmented Reality can be described as a medium with its own specificity and poetic possibilities, it is early to declare today that the artworks made with it constitutes a new form of art, instead, it augments previous forms of site interventions and installation, in which boundaries are broken and recreated between the public and the private, the digital space and physical space, real and virtual, body and media, art and politics in a cybrid and augmented space.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Projeto 'O Chalé' uma investigação de arte no processo de desenvolvimento de um jogo eletrônico(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-06-22) LIMA, Yasmine Vanessa Machado; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522The electronic games are configured in an aesthetic and cultural experience (Zimmerman, 2004) profoundly related to the contemporary life. The Amazon, in connection with the global thought, from the urban cultures of its metropolis, participates of this universe much more as a receptor than as a producer of scientific and artistic knowledge. As an answer to this gap, this dissertation starts from the investigation of the open project “O Chalé” (“The Cottage”) by observing it as an object of collective creation, conceived and developed in an independent way, exploring its creative path and the expression of its ideas until the moment of the evolution flowing. From this experience, this dissertation looks for contextualizing the current scenery of the videogames under the optics of its crossovers with the artistic universe; it also traces approximations between game art and market game. By approaching the intuitive development of a videogame creative process from an inside perspective, this dissertation covers a hypermediatic and intercultural object (Canclini, 2009) which content connects to series of crossings that are also epistemologically pertinent as part of the Amazon culture in dialogue with the global culture, its imaginary and history, without abandoning its aesthetics subjects and visual representations. The investigative dedication of an artistic character research over a project with these characteristics is important no just as a study facing media (since in the Region North there are just a few academic researches in the area and even due to the productions shortage), but also for the importance in comprehend the genesis of a cultural product. This can become a significant tool of stimulus in the relationship between the public and the appreciation of the material and immaterial patrimony of the State of Para.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O que restou do olhar: reminiscência de um álbum de família(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-06-29) GIUSTI, Desiree Costa; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Saburo (三郎)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-12-16) ONO, Ricardo Harada; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522The present work is the result of a research in the line of Poetics and Processes of Performance in Arts, thus intending to be an artistic work. Substantiation of a creative act, it presents its genesis based on the intersection of different reference layers: history, memories, emotions and affections, technical and empirical knowledge, in short, different components of my cognitive universe. The result is divided into two volumes, the art-object itself, which is revealed through comics, and this memorial, which presents the mode of operation and concepts generated by the intersections of these plans / layers. The work, the result of the creative process, narrates a period of my grandfather’s life, from the years leading up to his arrival in the Amazon to his last days, having, as a background, the history of Japanese immigration, and the group to which he belonged. It narrates his motivations and the challenges faced in the face of adaptation in Brazil and, in parallel, what are the consequences on the history of his descendants.
