As in other colonization processes which took place in the Peruvian, Bolivian and Ecuadorian Amazon, in Colombia the peasants who occupied the Amazonian space in the fifties and sixty arrived after being expelled by the reproduction and expansion of the capital. But, unlike these countries, in Colombia, during these same years, the State undertook a military persecution against those peasants who had resisted the land expropriation process. In this sense, and seeking to comprehend the identity construction process of these peasants, this article will present a brief historical reconstruction of their first organizational efforts and a description of how they undertook their identification process as a social group. Finally, the article will analyze the mechanisms of resistance that Colombian Amazon peasants have created and consolidated in their struggles for recognition and their struggles against injustice and institutional disrespect experienced by decades.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A indústria dos minerais metálicos e a formação de cadeias produtivas estruturantes na Amazônia: uma aplicação da matriz de contabilidade social(Banco da Amazônia, 2005-12) CARVALHO, David Ferreira; CARVALHO, André CutrimThis article aims at investigating how economically important metallic mineral industry is for the Amazon and its capacity for spinning off multiplying effects of products, income and jobs for the local economy, as well as bringing about links among other production activities in the region when it comes to setting up structuring productive chains capable of promoting industrial complexes for the economical development of the Amazon.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Manejo e uso comum dos recursos naturais em populações quilombolas no vale do Rio Capim - PA(Núcleo de Altos Estudos Amazônicos, 2010-07) BARBOSA, Maria Betanha Cardoso; ACEVEDO MARIN, Rosa ElizabethThis text outlines the system of common use of natural resources in quilombola communities of Taperinha, Sauá-Mirim and Nova Ipixuna. It is supported by official documents on the creation of the NAEA, and texts on its production and trajectory, written by several authors, especially from home, highlighting those elaborated by Armando Mendes. Creative utopias are guiding ideas always seeking a "light at the end of the tunnel" that even without being fully achieved stimulate the creation of new concepts and methodologies. In this context, the NAEA was conceived as an integrating institution of university doing, able to break with structures and concepts that were then anchored in positivism. In constructing this utopia, the NAEA was envisaged involving three interdependent pillars that would identify it and give it its own personality. The three pillars are summarized in the key concepts of Development, Interdisciplinarity and Amazonia. The challenge, or creative utopia, is precisely to give new contents to these concepts, and make them tools capable of approaching and transforming the Amazonian reality. After 45 years, how has NAEA been responding to this challenge?, is what is asked in this paper.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O procedimento de Regularização Fundiária Urbana (REURB): o caso do bairro Novo Horizonte no município de Marituba, estado do Pará(Universidade da Amazônia, 2021-11) ROSA, Ciria Cristiane daItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) Resenha da obra de: NUNES, B.; PINHEIRO, V. A complementaridade vital entre o abastecimento e o extrativismo na dinâmica econômica da Amazônia Colonial(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08) RAVENA, Nírvia; MARIN, Rosa Elizabeth AcevedoThis paper analyzes the economic dynamics of the Amazon in the colonial period through the description of social relations between Indians and missionaries built during this period.
